Guide / Tutorial FAQ: Where to find material x

After reading countless threads and trying to unlock the engineers myself, I thought it might be a good idea to start a FAQ topic on where/how to find those impossible to find items you need to craft or unlock engineers. Maybe the mods can make this a sticky? I'll update the main post with new sources you or I can come up with.

Arsenic

Where:
How:

Chemical Manipulators

Where: Hyades Sector DR-V C2-23 A 5, coordinates 44.82/-31.39 "Dav's Hope" [SRV required]
How: There are materials found around the base. You may need to relog several times to get them to show up.

Where: Naptha Class Tanker in the Arinack system (formerly Okinura), near Lagdo.
How: There are materials floating around the tanker. You may need to relog several times to get them to show up.

Where: Anyplace with lots of ships coming in that are destroyed like NAV-beacons or HI-RES areas
How: Scan debris of destroyed ships

Modular Terminals

Where: Sirius + neighbor systems
How: Passenger missions with Commodities[4] reward

Sensor Fragments

Where: HIP 17862 6 C A, 30.34° / -98.58° (crashed thargoid) [SRV required]
How: Find three sensors at the main ship segment and shoot them to get Sensor Fragments (no anti-corrosive cargo hold needed)

Great idea for a thread. I've made some notes on Inara as I have gone along of a few things I found in threads or online etc. Take these with a grain of salt, as I am not sure how up-to-date all of this is as I haven't done engineering stuff for a little while, but may help to get the ball rolling with a few more:

(feel free to correct me everyone if any of this is out of date or inaccurate)

CHEMICAL MANIPULATORS - Haz Res in Outbreak/Anarchy, Convoy Beacons (kill T9s etc), Naphtha Class Tanker in Okinura, Dav's Hope in Hyades Sector DR-V C2-23 planet A 5,

PHARMACEUTICAL ISOLATORS: Outbreak systems-High Pop-High Grade Emission USS (travel out from star 500-1000ls and circle). Independent systems preferred.

CONDUCTIVE CERAMICS: Famine State System, Find Distribution Center, kill T-9s. Outbreak systems, Find Convoy Beacons, kill T-9s. Dav's Hope in Hyades Sector DR-V C2-23 planet A 5.

POLYMER CAPACITORS: CZs & Dav's Hope. Encoded Emissions?

EXQUISITE FOCUS CRYSTALS: Data Mission Rewards

PROTO RADIOLIC ALLOYS: Independent, High Population, Boom systems flying at 0.5c between 600-1000ly in Deep Space. High Grade Emission USS is what you look for and they should eventually give you what you require.

SPECIALIZED LEGACY FIRMWARE: USSs with satellites in them around earth-like worlds, San Tu, it has a science installation in space with satalites, Ugrivirii system, the Jefferies Port station,

MODIFIED EMBEDDED FIRMWARE: Surface Scanning list @ http://bit.ly/2sEZLl3

ABNORMAL COMPACT EMISSION DATA: Security Anacondas in a Boom system, Datapoint base scans (Quince Scan Missions), Independent systems-State None-Around Gas Giants w/ rings,

DATAMINED WAKE EXCEPTIONS: Famine State System, Find Distribution Center, scan High Wakes

CRACKED INDUSTRIAL FIRMWARE: Surface Scanning list @ http://bit.ly/2sEjWQa (New 2.0 List here http://bit.ly/2tP7XuL)

High Grade Emissions - SoI; Deep Space (best) - Threat 1-4? - (Special; Grade 5 (Very Rare) Materials; Their spawn and contents depend on system allegiance & states. Some Systems can spawn two types of HGE at once.
See conditions below:
Federation-aligned system - Core Dynamics Composites, Proprietary Composites
Empire-aligned system - Imperial Shielding
System in Civil Unrest state - Improvised Components
System in War or Civil War state - Military Grade Alloys, Military Supercapacitors
System in Outbreak state - Pharmaceutical Isolators
System in Boom state - Proto Heat Radiators, Proto Radiolic Alloys, Proto Light Alloys (Note: PLAs can get by killing high-rank combat ships))

Data from Satellites:
Atypical encryption archives
Exceptional scrambled emission data
Irregular emission data
Open symmetric keys
Tagged encrypt
Unexpected emission data,
Spec legacy firmware

BEST MATERIAL COLLECTION SITES (Near SOL):

(4.8%) - Tutumu Planet 4 E A (188.6lys from Sol)

Great Idea for a topic!

Wrote a USS guide a little while back that may be of use in finding rare items (Pharma isolators, military grade alloys, etc.). You may be able to snip and incorporate some of the information there, into this thread :)
