Farming Npc’s at stronghold carrier’s

Interestingly I found this on the Issue Tracker while looking to see if anyone had reported the server issues: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/67191

This person is claiming that there are in fact ATRs turning up after some time. If true this would suggest that FDev already have anticipated this tactic and just need to adjust the timer so that ATR turn up early enough to make this a less attractive strategy for undermining.
You get into trouble with regular security if you are clean BGS wise but kill power ships and they scan you- so do that enough you'll eventually get a spower bounty.

Those 4am people seem to have nuked all strongholds:

That's the real power play!
BTW, a small update: apparently you don't even need to use a "lure a couple of NPCs away from the carrier using a long range reverski build" tactics.
The carrier either does not have or does not use its station guns, so the whole place is pretty chill.
You can just fly in there guns blazing. If you only take out enemy Taipans (for 64 merits a kill, and there seems to be an infinite supply of them) then ATR won't even spawn.
You can just use a lot of lasers (so that you won't have to worry about ammo) and do the clay pigeon shooting indefinitely.

I killed a couple of Vipers as well (for science) and I only got some powerplay bounty (without notoriety).
The only problem was that it happened after the servers had recovered temporarily and before they were switched off again, so everything was buggy as hell (I did not get any merits) and therefore I have no idea what was working as intended and what was a bug.

You realize the Earth is not flat, right? It's always daytime somewhere. :)
I'm not a fan of the idea that if we can't matchmake literally 100℅ of people with everyone else, there's no point in multiplayer. People are going to play in quiet hours, but luckily there are multiple people, overall it should balance out. Surely it can't be worse than the meta of 0℅ matchmaking?
If I had my way, I'd ban all Australians, Americans, zoomers, retirees and dirty hippies. It's just unfair to those of us that play -30 minutes a week due to real life obligations.

for 64 merits a kill,
You don't even have to go to a stronghold to do that if you want merits- the only difference is that its (slightly) less tedious there.

This is what I mean about PvE being broken currently in PP2- having PP1 level ships just encourages low level farming, rather than FD putting more high value targets in that are more enjoyable to blow up.

This^, and the unfortunate decision of locking the first PP module behind a massive grind wall (rank 34, ~250000 merits), instead of giving it away at a lower rank (or just moving all PP modules to tech brokers).

It's quite understandable that module shoppers are going to take the path of least resistance, so they will keep farming weak NPCs for weeks if that's the fastest way to collect merits, and that will have its inevitable side effects on powers.

As an example- yesterday I went to a rivals exploited system at random. I went into SC, and dropped out. Wing appeared who did not shoot back. All dead, jumped out. Repeat. Kill wing, jump out. In one system each kill was about 60 merits- just by doing what we used to do with NAV farming.

I describe it here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...ons-moans-and-pp-bgs-c-p-ui-confusion.629143/ with some basic solutions but FD need to heavily tweak this.

What you described doesn't sound very efficient. Four ships like that will give you about 200 merits per Cmdr I think. So they'd need to do it order a thousand times to get those merits. I suspect it's other people doing other things too. It's also hard for you to know that they went to PG. They may have gone and done something else, assuming it wasn't all them. I agree regardless that they should do it in open and the game should resist such cheesy methods of earning. Just a little skeptical.
it doesn’t matter my math was wrong yours is wrong also though it’s not that low, the npc’s at the carriers aren’t the low tier enemies you find at other systems, there’s a reason it’s being done at the carriers.

Thank you someone that actually went and proved it, I dont understand why people are acting like it’s not a thing.
