FDev: Credit rebalancing incoming, "more reward for higher risk" activities

  • Discussions have been ongoing since after Arthur & Bruce joined FDev

This could be read a couple of different ways. Either that its something that just happened after they came on board or that Arthur and Bruce have been instrumental in pushing this forward.

Either way, good stuff.

I do expect some salt, as I think there might be a nerf to laser mining rather than a buff to core, but i might be wrong.

I hope that there is a more even spread between different materials as well. Of course, not too close in value, but at least bump some of the worthless ones.

I heard they will retroactively nerf all mining payments, so if you only mined to get a Carrier, say goodbye.

There's not enough salt in the flatlands of the world to cope with that!

Although I would royally laugh my booty off like Brian Blessed!

MAKE MURDER MAGNIFICENT once again

That probably will be the tagline for somebody's upcoming legal action.... I of course mean the little imperial ponce who was denied readmission to the royalness.

Edit - lol at autocorrect changing prince to this...!

Changes need to tempt people to crime. Less work, more plunder :D

Well, if they stopped changing where/how to find ships carrying LTDs piracy might be in a better place and more widely performed.

Also, just got to the bit where Bruce said they are expecting salt and said how they know people will say nasty FD taking away ability to make profit, so definitely expect nerfs along with buffs.

The thing is, you ultimately need to make legit credits harder to make, and criminal credits easier.

It would be nice to return back core mining where it was on start (i.e. it pays well but needs skills ... compared to laser mining). However it need first to repair numerous issues related to latest mining "patches" (yes, yes, broken PVA or almost non-existent right content in some hotspost for example) . Overally I like what was mentioned in stream, on the other side Im curious how it will turn out since right now there already is possible achieve relatively "big" money without touching mining, if player know what he is doing.
