I'd be ok with the fade to black transition if it puts you in the airlock and not on the ground.

The way the SRV transition works we don't magically appear on the ground, we lower from the hatch and then drop down. I would hope the equivalent will happen here, with the hatch or door opening and we start at the top of the steps or travel down on the ramp.
Yeah, I agree. I've wondered how we'll manage things like our suits and weapons. I'd think an airlock would be a good place to pick your "loadout" before leaving your ship, and to switch back to your flightsuit/clothes when returning.I'd be ok with the fade to black transition if it puts you in the airlock and not on the ground.
I mean thats basically what thargoid combat looks like, with the guy running away shooting back
I know, but I wanted my 'Neil Armstrong' moment. So I find it disappointing that the journey from ship >>> surface will feature a fade-to-black.

yup - to the surprise of no-one. Well, no-one sensible![]()
Am I disappointed by this? A little but not much.
It would have been nice to walk around the cockpit to a turbolift to the landing ramp but personally I'd rather have Odyssey sooner and they can put this kind of stuff in later.
Although you can walk around in SC; you can't in NMS and to be honest don't really miss it in NMS.

When I asked this question, I was asking it literally- what do you see? I never expected interiors as such, just where you find yourself when you go out on foot. Do you start by the ship or in an airlock and then jump out? SRVs are lowered and raised, do people climb down, run down ramps etc?
I had forgotten how bad Starship Troopers was, but it did remind me that it would be nice to have cargo shuttles to shift containers to and from large ships.
