Fer de lance and expected python nerf

So the Python should be as fast as A-kitted, unarmored Asp with no cargo?

Also why should the Python have better shields ratings than the Anaconda?

Nobody said it should have a better shield than a Ana.. Even I can agree to that.. but you have to agree that a 180,000,000 ship shouldnt be a sitting duck for 2 maxed out cobra's that combined cost less than 20 million..

the ASP should be nerfed, to much specialized in everything

the Anaconda should be buffed, to weak for its size

the Python nerf has nothing to do about those, it was nerfed to let the vulture outshine him regarding fighting

Three Cobras can take out Conda right now, combined cost 30 million vs 600 million.

We can play this cost game all day. You seriously think ship cost should be directly proportional to effectiveness?

I agree, it'd be TONS more realistic to just have the word "Immune!" float over the target, when those pleb cobra pilots take shots at the obviously superior python.

It should be that way for every ship. Pay more for it, it's immune to anything that cost less.

The price is not that bad because your earning capability goes up with along with the expenses...

Type 7 earns just as much without the astronomical running costs. Fuel scoop is a must in a python when trading which takes up space and time, 6 jumps and you have 100K fuel bill!!!

It is the mmo mentality where grinding=uber gear for roflstomping noobs. Some here even openly said an expensive ship should compensate for player skill. I played a lot so I should win. That kind of mentality.

Ah well. I have changed my mind a little though: the nerf should not effect iceyjones. His heartbreaking tale of how he did not sit on his butt melts even the iciest of hearts.

The Type 7 can't lasorbeam a cobra into vapour in couple of seconds.

@BigBadB
It should be a 33% nerf of the "final shield protection", no matter the modules, nor the pips. -33% in every situations (due to how the equation works).
Yes, like I said - with a 6A it'll go from 605.2 to 403.5, and be the second highest rating in the game (and about 33% stronger than the Clipper, the next highest, if you ignore the possibility of an 8A on a Type-9).

Python needs a slight nerf but if the numbers are as bad as it seems the python will have one shot to do it and if it misses it is dead. 6 million cr down the drain. I don't want an I win button but a 200 million cr ship should be better then a 2 million cr ship. You cant have a best ship and i agree but if everything is balanced around the viper, the viper becomes the best ship because it will be the cheapest.

Your right and that's wrong too.. but not many people own Ana's so people who have no intention of progressing and just fine with a Viper or cobra are no complaining about Ana's so the spot light hasn't been shined on That issue... But more and more of a select few are buying Pythons and that starts the moaning... They want to destroy what they refuse to earn and are crying to the Devs to help them.. I don't think that's a fair way of handling the issue.

Then just make every ship the same price, if not what is the point of spending more to get the same? grinding is supposed to give you access to better gear, should you like it or not, it's the whole point of giving a feeling of progression to the player.

I am about ready to buy the darn thing and I could care less about the incoming nerf.

well i agree that this ship is far from being usefull after the nerf... it will be slow, average shield, bad jump range, average cargo, extremly costy, heavy weapons... if i were a new player, i would never even think of buying this to say the truth...
You have an interesting definition of 'average'. ;)

The shield will be the second strongest in the game (after the 'conda, which the python currently beats) - about a 33% stronger than the next highest combat capable ship (the Clipper).

The cargo capacity will still the third highest in the game (after the 'conda and Type-9) and by far the largest capacity that can land on outposts.

Not sure that those really qualify as 'average'. In addition:

It will, as far as I'm aware, still be by far the most agile large ship (at least until any of the new ones are added).

It will still have a superb hardpoint layout.

It'll still look exceptionally cool. :D

Sounds like you been losing at games all your life because someone worked a little harder at getting better than you did... may I suggest checkers?

It will cost an average of 1,000,000+ to fix after every fight.

It will cost 5,000,000 - 7,000,000 to rebuy if you die

It will not be able to use those awesome gun placements once a fighter gets behind it and won't be able to regain a target until it blows up.... Even if the Python wins the cost of repairs makes it a financial loss.

It will quickly be sold for a Type 9.. even when it's being used as a trader it has no shield... so fighting is out of the question...

Get real dude....

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't like checkers though, I usually lose. I think the white pieces need to be needed. :)

Sure, a python is exactly like a sidewinder. Maybe not now, because now it is awesome. But if it only has the 2nd best shield of all ships and gets slightly less agile it is exactly like another ship.

Just because it isn't better at everything than everything is really no reason to be all dramatic about it. Try and keep some perspective. :)
