First exploration

Hmm... I was wondering if it was. But I have that ship with custom kit add-on and it look different in that picture, not so much like a MKIII. Must be the angle of the picture, as I was wondering if it was the Cobra MKIV

I've been though a few systems where you get two sun type stars close together like that. I think they're designed that way to try and catch people out when fuel scooping around the first and flying too close to the second one

That's a bit naughty lol

Yeah, there is a bug in Colonia when you visit the main station there. After you've docked at it, I found that when you jump to another system and you're supposed to stop as you exited the jump near the sun - you don't and carry on moving to full throttle - as though you disabled hyperspace de-throttle - when you didn't do.

I tested it with a few ships and it does it all the time. You need relog to get it working again. As switching on and off hyperspace de-throttle doesn't fix it until you relog. And it does it everytime you dock at that main station in Colonia. The DEVS here must be aware of that bug.

No problem for me, I don't have supercruise autopilot, and my typical jump drill is to flick throttle to zero when jump counter starts going down.

It used to be, if you came at it from the correct angle, you'd end up in between the two stars, complete with all the heat generation that created.

While I definitely can appreciate that not happening anymore, I think the fix for it took a bit of the emotional response away. It was certainly exciting in an, "Oh, feces!" sort of way...

Yeah I definitely felt that lol

Have you reached Sag A yet Emvee? I’ve lost track of where you are. What’s the normal jump range on your Cobra mk3? It’s still the classic ship to me🍺

You must have started to rush more to get to Sag A* last night. You seemed quite a distance out still, what you posted last night after you travelling towards it all week

By the way... you can get more than 33ly jump range out the Cobra MKIII. Mine is engineered, has guns and everything installed is A rated. I'm only using a L2 Guardian Booster and it does 35ly jump. It can do 39ly jump with a L4 Guardian Booster used. But a L4 fuelscoop is going to struggle to keep up with a 39ly jump each time, you will have to stop at certain points and refill the fuel tank. Found that when making the trip to Colonia in the Cobra

I've been working engineering a Krait Phantom past 2 days, possibly being used for doing the same trip to Sag A*. 38ly jump range with a L5 shield instead of a L6 and putting a L6 fuelscoop in that slot instead so it can keep up with the jump range. As a L5 fuelscoop isn't quite doing it if you use a L6 shield giving 37ly jump and L5 fuelscoop. Again, everything on it fitted is A rated, has all guns, best armour used.. etc. But eninnered to strip weight anywhere I can on it to keep the jump range still respectable

The Rooster passed Sag A last week and is nearly at beagle point. I am leaving Sag A with the pedal to the metal and if I don't catch up to him, we will meet on the flip flop

I looked your position up.... 20,000 ly to my port beam......a little too far to deviate on the outbound journey... coming back... I may be closer. Even the Rooster might be closer but he is galavanting around in his cobra MK III.

Good Evening Cmdrs

Rooster flight report

I'm 57,380.80ly from my starting point.
I'm 31,531.42ly from Sag A*
Over 4000ly jump today, a big jump today due to time off from reality.

I found my first one of these today
