Fleet Carriers are completely useless.

My question is can a commander buy low LTD from the commodities market and than sell them at a high price station.
A fleet carrier owner has very little incentive to offer you this at the moment due to the price restrictions on carrier buy and sell orders.

I think fleet carriers are useless, was hoping to find a way to make lots of money using fleet carrier, but the truth of the matter the fleet carriers only support the mines. I only found 1 fleet carrier that actually does anything and that is completely a joke, as it is proving to be unreliable as a point of sale, in one location it wants to buy tritium for 10,000, that is below the price in the sector for buying it from the station. So most will just skip over the carrier. Same with low temperature dimonds I am pretty sure fleet carriers can add to the profit of players if they can fleet carriers with LTD for sale which is a big fat joke. Most fleet carriers are more than 500 light years away from where I am out. I don't feel like jumping into the Sun 500 times just to get to one that I can take another 500 light years away to even make a profit.

They are really far from being useless - i have 2 accounts and i got a carrier for each of them. So yea, i do find them useable and i do like them a lot.
Granted, they are not suited for all play-stiles and that added to the Upfront price and the upkeep means that a great number of commanders will skip them
I mean they will skip from owning them, but they might still benefit a lot from the carriers owned by others

The fact that they are dynamic means you could go 500 light years away and they could jump before you get there. Also the Deep Space Carrier network for unexplored space out of the bubble is completely useless unless there is a defined fleet carrier that jumps to them all.

DSSA network is not there to provide taxi services, but to act as mobile bases where explorers can sell their data and repair their ships.
IMO they will be / are invaluable.

My entire time in the Galaxy I have only found 1 fleet carrier.

Check Inara - 71 pages of carriers. That means more than 7000 carriers less than a week from launch.
And there is a good chance that there are more and not all of them were spotted / reported to Inara.

For a moment I thought you were joking. But you weren't. Hm.
They are very useful. Much more than I actually thought they would be.

I would love to see a fleet carrier jump from outside it. rather its jumping in or jumping out I think I am in the dead zone of time playing the game. USA time. As everything seems to change when I am logged off. I guess I am a little disappointed because I thought the fleet carriers would be a little more active, and be able to see them jumping in and out of the system.

I wish they would allow fleet carrier to dock with each other and outposts, if docked their maintance cost is frozen.

Edit: At least at the outposts, that way when you go away for a vacation you don't loose your fleet carrier.

Go to RBS 1843, you will find over 120 FC in the one system, I hear every system for 3 stars in a row in every direction around the "New Borann" system is full up with FC, but i did my mining in the old Borann before 9th June, so am taking a break for now from that. For me? As an owner they are Ace, just finished selling my 2nd full 23k T load of Tritium
trading, 1st load 1.6b profit, 2nd load 1.3b profit, so 2.9b profit this week.

That'll do me , and short hops, under 60 second supercruise times , zero CMDR Griefer intradictions from hundreds of trips and a handful of NPC intradictions that never even lead to my Sheilds being down, and 1 NPC Pirate was nuked by my Fleet Carrier. that was fun.

That is only if you can find a way to make mass money in game with trading that kinda sucks I am in Athena at the moment. I think this guy only uses it for mining and jumps it around two locations when I am sleeping, I think he uses it as a sale point while he is at one mine location and when he is at another location nothing.

If you are in Athena you are only 83LY from my FC, and I am seriously seeking profit share contractors for short run haulage of Tritium on my buy and sell routes, 23000 Tons a time. My offer rate is 10k a ton profit share, the total profit is about 45k ton, so am offering about 22% of the takings for the work. You will struggle to find ANY in system trade route with short SC jumps often under 60 seconds, 8-10 mins round trips, and out of over 200 jumps so far this week I have not even had a sniff on one CMDR griefer or Pirate, I don't think they can cope with FC transport routes, as we are so close to the stations.

Genuine offer, if you want to earn 10k T trade transporting for me PM me an I will set it up.

Why am I doing this?

1. I'm Credits Rich
2. I'm time poor ( well cant play all day every day that i would if i could)
3. Alone it takes me about 5 hrs to completely load and 5hrs to completely unload including FC jumps and real world family interunptions
4. I have a 14b credit target to have 10 years of FC running costs banked, before the Tritium Runs get truly nerfed. Have 4.9b now, want to finish the task asap.

What do you need?

A hauler, bigger the better, T9 with 756T cargo space or Imperial cutter max cargoed out are ideal, T10 or Federal Corvette cargoed out would work, i only deal with large pad stations so you can also use smaller haulers like T7 or T6. I use a 756T a rated T9 i call FC Transport.

Enough credits to cover your cargo capacity on the sell runs, at the moment woul;d be max 42k a ton (you sell for 52k) , so for a 756T T9 you need 32m credits in working capital plus enough reserve for your ship rebuy if anything did happen to you. (Unlikely).

Genuine offer, open to anyone else too, if interested PM me and i will get you on my ED friends list and sort out the details.

For those wondering about the "Galaxy Credits per hour" rate of this work, 6 runs an hour minimum is easily possible, maybe 7, but lets say six. So the rate is as follows,

Ship cargo space x 10,000c x 6. So a 17T cargo small ship could do 1m credits per hour profit, a 756t T9 could do 45m credits an hour.

Thanks for listening!

Does this cause the HUD to go all glitchy like it does in Sol due to too many things to focus on?

If I were in the Bubble, I'd take you up on this, if for no other reason than to do something that has consequence.

FC are the answer, Find your closest FC, sell your exploration data, store you explorer on it, buy a sidewinder, and suicide back. You could start during the week. lol

That, so much. Mine is an outpost in an uninhabited system for PvP fun and mining. The other carriers in our squadron are used right now in a war in a system with only outposts. Just the last 2 days are crazy in Colonia with carriers almost arriving hourly bringing people to unlock the engineers or for sightseeing. There are many interesting uses for the carriers once you don't think in cr/hr, but smiles/hr.
I do have some problems with retrieving some borrowed mission cargo from mine, but hopefully that solves itself soon.

I think I made a mistake, I must be further out from the fleet carrier stations and they have not propagated the galaxy though. I found 3 of them doing carrier missions. I got to 1 30 seconds before it jumped, so I was able to see it jump but the jump cloud formed on top of my ship. It was really cool. The fleet carrier jumped but I never got a message I was leaving the no combat zone.
