Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Beta 2 - Patch Notes

In the galaxy map there is a distinct filter at the end of the filters list (iirc it is named Carriers)
I tested that last night on pc and it worked properly (it worked in beta1 too) - all the systems that had at least a carrier were lit Yellow
Yes you see the ones around you in relative close "browser space". But try to discover a little yellow dot 8000 LY away - good luck. Try to find it 20,000LY away - good luck. Deep space explorers are targeting things from very long distance and these little yellow dots do not show unless you were to browser your browser way out there which takes a lot of time and is hit/miss. The idea is that an explorer may want to look for a FC in time of need or for UC out in deep space that might be 8-10 LY or more from them.

Oh, you are right.
But it is the same if you try to find the elusive C cabon star. They are yellow too and you need to browse rather small areas of the galaxy map. Where small is still hundreds of light years large spheres...

Now, if you tell me that you want a big fuglly marker - like a bookmark - for every system plagued by hosting a carrier - there will be thousands of those. Maybe tens of thousands.
No thank you.

Carriers are obnoxious enough in terms of intrusion in the system and galaxy maps.

You can de-select a marker category in the Options section of Cartographics (galaxy map). In fact, the "Show Fleet Carriers Markers" option already exists. It just isn't working.

So i have a question, I know there had to be a retool of the hotspots for the tritium. My question is, is what’s in the beta going to be the set roll or will there be another roll when it goes live?

Why so shouty? No, of course you can't target planets in a system you haven't yet scanned. The FC does not have magic long-range sensors. If you're targeting an explored system in the galaxy map, you can target individual bodies for your carrier jump. If it's a system you haven't mapped, your only choice is to jump to the main star.

Please read my words - these are planets I HAVE scanned. Exactly what you say is do-able... is NOT - at least with my beta.

No what I suggested is small not big fuglly - an improvement with the carrier marker when selected in the mapping system options. These would not show unless you want to play the game with "Carriers" constantly selected. Who would want to do that? This is would only be used to temporarily see where the Drake fleet carriers are - perhaps expanded to 10,000 ly view. Personally I would like to see the current system show stars 2-3 times further out than current - or at least give a second "wider view" option.

Really...I played this game for 6 years. Did good to get to 12 Billion Credits with the small amount of game time I could do. I stopped playing in October of last year. Time and Real Life getting in the way. I got one word for this Credit Black Hole...NUTS

Agree. And from what I see the fuel (Tritium) has to be mined the long way - no core mining. That's ridiculous - you're burning cost with time and then you have to spend forever mining just to move the dam ship a few light years? I'm getting to the point I've just had it with this Drake FC idea. I have better things to do with my real time.

Does "Refuel Station", "Repair Station" and "Armoury" replenishes themselves? Once i activate them, i dont need to worry about them going out of stock?

How about the repair all button actually repairing all as it still doesn’t fix your integrity. We still have to hit 3 ~ 5 options to actually repair, restock and repaint our ships. Please, if you have a “repair all” button then make it do just that so we only have to press one button for ship maintenance when we dock, all the other options are just bloating the screen. I like the new buttons which are available when you dock, but again; ship integrity and paint work is ignored by this function.

If you have scanned those planets in this beta then I trust you have raised a bug report or confirmed an existing one.

That won't work until the data is sold to universal cartographics, if you have scanned them but not yet turned in the data you won't be able to target the planets because until the data is in it is still unexplored. The same if you scan a system but get destroyed before turning the data in, until you do it is unexplored.

You have only scanned them? That alone doesn't make them selectable, if you have only scanned them and not turned in the data it's working as expected, if you have scanned and turned in the data to UC then it is a bug and needs to be reported.

No they are scanned and turned in. My Anaconda in the black shows that.
