Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

The population of Colonia is pretty much irrelevant. It's a transport hub, at which fuel is supposed to be available (even if we assume that NPC megaship tankers bring it in from the Bubble). And yet it just... isn't. IIRC, each Carrier intending to travel from Colonia to the Bubble needs around 7,000t of the stuff. And those heading out on deep-space expeditions need in excess of 20,000t each.

At present, it isn't even possible for players to tanker it from the Bubble, due to an unfortunate oversight: we can place a limit on a BUY order, but not a SELL order. Anyone attempting to sell tritium is unable to avoid selling the 7,000t they need to get home!

And while tritium is still available in the Bubble, the shortage of cheap tritium is still causing issues. Who is going to throw away a billion credits by buying at the wrong time? If we actually KNEW that cheap tritium was never coming back, at least that would give some clarity!

Surface Depisits?
Tritium Avalibilty?
Carrier Fuel Management?

More detailed upkeep commodity management?
Tritium generation from water/hydrogen?
UC mechanics consistent with the rest of the game?
Carrier partial vulnerability and herding mechanics?
Carrier crew morale?

:D S

...there is another thing, how many ppl do exploration? 10% ? That will be not enough of population to feed tritium miners.
Once all that 10% are full, they will jump away for long, months. And what will do other miners remaining in bubble? They want each day 2 hrs to mine tritium for good price.
...so I wouldn't put a bet on this, just make NPC miners on board.
Or anyhow like 20 man*hours of mining for 65000ly range would be acceptable too. Current 100 hrs is too much.

Realistically, anyone with an FC is mining their own tritium. There's no way in hell I'm buying tritium from ANYONE at 40K/t. I'll stock up in the bubble at 4k/t before heading out, but I really couldn't care less if anyone wants to sell me tritium - I'll mine it myself when I'm outside the bubble, just as I would scoop to fuel my own ships.

Yeh, 20 man * hours of work for full cargo would be ok. That means on each ring on the way you can do 30 mins stop and be ok with fuel forever.

Greetings, Commanders!

We're pleased to confirm that the patch described in our Known Issues post from earlier this week is expected this Wednesday 29 July at 11:00 UTC with an estimated 15 minutes of downtime. Please find the Patch Notes and Known Issues below:

Patch Notes

Mining
  • Fixed an issue whereby surface deposits created after cracking a motherlode would flag themselves as depleted
  • Fixed issues related to diminishing returns for commodities in overlapping hotspots

Crashes and Stability
  • Fixed an issue where loading into an instance in a system with a large amount of Fleet Carriers would cause very long load times (potentially long enough to cause a disconnect)

Fleet Carriers
  • Fixed an issue which stopped Fighters being restocked from a Fleet Carrier
  • Fixed a number of issues related to Fleet Carrier positioning:
    • Better enforcement of the 16 carrier limit per body
    • Preventing departing Fleet Carriers from taking up one of the 16 slots from the body they've just left
    • Further work to ensure Carriers are positioned away from other nearby body sites, such as other Fleet Carriers

Known Issues

Fleet Carriers
  • When opening the Fleet Carrier naming pop up in the Livery, an additional unwanted character will be added to the start and end of the name. These characters will need to be manually deleted to prevent them being included.

Please note that the above notes are liable to change as adjustments are made and changes are added or removed. Tweaks may be made up until the time of launch.

Thanks as always for your continued feedback!

No tritium fix.....blah

Request:
Please rotate carrier's icon 90 or -90 degree on system map TO 'carrier line" (that one wich visually connect carrier to body). At default scale it tends to hide bodies/stations under it and that is not clickable until zoomed. Annoys.

I guess we all have our own preferences. I have two Carriers now, and I've never mined tritium. One is now beyond the Bubble Nebula, still running on the reserve I bought at 4k/t (back when this was possible). The other is back home with about 17,000t of cheap tritium aboard (supply dried up before I could finish loading it). Even if I have to pay full price for the rest, earning that much would be quicker than mining it.

If to make tritium 2x more effective then now + 3x more tritium drop then now (i.e. 600t/hr on single spot) then both will lead to around 20 man*hours per 65000ly.
Rising mining only is not possible because cargo is limited, time will be wasted on SC.

P.S. 65000ly is about distance from Bubble to Beagle.

No fix for the 129 fleet carriers in the Robigo system?

In other words delete all their owners accounts. I am getting really expletive with this game now because of these moronic devices.
Wana put your own there ? :D I was docking near by >:
Make bookmark on station and plot route by it - that what i do with heavy fc systems

I see the signal source nerf was left a secret for scouts......instead of 4 spawning in threat 4 its now 6-8, and 4-6 in threat 2-3...trying to nerf that combat rank for lower cmdrs hey not to mention their caustic missiles now proc more and hit like a truck :p cheers for the information fdev sneaky nerfs as usual
