Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

Here's another (minor) bug with core mining. I don't know how to reproduce it or what the exact conditions are when this occurs, but as of now it already happened a few times to me. Right now in a LTD hotspot with an LTD core. After the rock explodes, all fragments are mysteriously placed about 5km away from the shattered rock. A pretty unusual and certainly unwanted behaviour.
Yes, this happened to me once as well, but only once.

Translation: To go where no man has gone before. However do not close you're eyes to the void. For the darkness will swallow you whole. I am that darkness you may seek, for you shall fear my name in the wake of you're demise

No need to be afraid.
Just admire the fact, that no one has been there before you..
And maybe nobody else ever will.
It's the beauty of the void.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I would absolutely hate to fill the whole cargo store with Tritium with mining alone. I'm even too lazy to move with a full tank. That's why I created my low fuel conduct (max 2 full jumps, ~ 145t for my current services per jump or roughly 300t). It usually works like this: One 'blind' jump of ~500Ly, then I grab my DBX and explore/scout forward in a range of the next 500Ly. Once I found a new Tritium source, I order my carrier, wait the 15 minutes, dock and switch to a miner. Rinse and repeat.

And now please, before we all end up in an endless loop of arguing again: Yes, this is definitely slow and in no way competitive to classic exploration. Which it never was meant to be.

If I would want to start from a far point in the galaxy, I would seriously consider to purchase the Tritium before and burn it in several jumps in a row. But that's another topic and not my cup of tea. Possible Tritium shortage in stations is also not on my radar and another topic as well.

But the constant change from mining to exploration and back again in relative short frequencies is definitely my thing. 😁

That's exactly how I plan to do it when I get back out there -- have a couple of thousand tons in the hold for emergencies but, otherwise, jump, explore, mine, repeat.

Somewhat to my amazement, I've just managed to instruct my Fleet Carrier to jump to park round HIP 4351 10, despite there being no shortage of carriers both round the body and round the star.

Given the changes to allowed carriers per body that are supposed to be part of Patch 4 V2, it'll be interesting to see if it's parked there tomorrow when I log in after the update.

Based on our experience with patches, everything can happen.
Even moving all excessive FCs to Raxxla ;)

As a side effect, this technique - alternating between exploring and mining in relative short frequencies - turned out to be the almost perfect anti-grind method.
Is it ever! I feel no obligation to get anywhere under any sort of deadline, can take side trips or even stop to investigate interesting circumstances, or just plow ahead from one carrier waypoint to the next. And it has certainly paid off as well, both in exploration rewards such as Codex finds and screenshots and in a consistent credit income. My latest boon was finding not one but two virgin ELWs buried in a field of friendly star types, K through A,* in which the majority of systems were also then undiscovered. I have a feeling there's a "mini-bubble" of yet-to-be-discovered systems surrounding those ELW finds, so I'll post their location after I've moved on a ways, for anyone else to investigate further. In terms of lore, this area looks to be a perfect place for establishing the next substantial human presence.

* Interestingly, the ELWs were not in G-type systems, but one an A and the other in a K -- bookends, you might say :D

I can only hope that FD won't break SSD mining while buffing laser mining.
I just made another test/refuel run in, this time in a weak Tri2 overlap
18 prospected rocks (+2 twice)
gave me 119 Tri +10 VO +3VO in refinery.

It was effectively a 30 minutes run and I think it could be my best lately.

I’m always appreciative of Fdev‘s efforts, however Im hoping lessons have been learned. The 4th attempt to get a previous update to work tells me that they tried to do too many changes at the same time. The balancing of resources could have been left until we knew the carriers were behaving. All this messing constantly upsets and effects almost everything us players do in game . Disappointed players are leaving the game, not in being bored but in despair at yet again facing weeks and weeks of things just being broke and by Fdev removing the main game mechanic that kept them playing, - making credits. This doesn’t bode well for Odessy.

Releasing a major update just before the holidays has advantages and disadvantages.

For the advantages, a lot of players are on vacation by the sea, the mountains, and not playing the game.

For the disadvantages, Frontier staff too. :)

so nothing on tritium stock in colonia? maybe if the issue tracker don´t flag the problem as duplicate of another different issue.... still stuck in colonia i guess....
I just got out to Colonia for the first time a week ago and was wondering what was up with all the decommissioned FCs. Now I know. People are giving up on Tritium, geting money for their FC and jumping back to bubble to buy another FC. Totally ridiculous that this is still an issue.
