For you, what is the new thargoid variant ?

So, is this possibly looking like a support vessel to counter speed-kiting + cold running? Would be neat if so...

As ED is basically a shoot-em-up with the depth of an episode of Bod, I'm betting it's 2, but happy to be proved wrong.
This will be one of those situations where how they react to humans will be based upon how humans act upon discovering the first one. Now, if we just treated kindly and don't start shooting at it right away... Oh crap. Oh well continue shooting.

I doubt so. Considering that the clip showing it off is in HIP 20567 - aka Maelstrom Indra’s location - it’s much more likely to be hostile from the get go.

And people are going to shoot the new thing because it’s a game.

we are gona get 2 new ships base building and on foot thargoids a few new srvs one that already relased (scorpion) and a few new ship launch fighters and 1 or 2 new on foot weapons........... and the stargoids are stations but for thargoids like the ground instalations (the thargoid thingys on the ground where you put guardian relics and green ones comeout) but in space . (no atmospheric planets spoiler alert)
Concerning all of the weird issues that ship launched fighters seem to have when they're being used, are they still useful for anything?

I hear collecting samples is doing great thing in Alert systems. It's only fair, they've been probing humans for centuries.

They are useful for a lot of things. They are especially good for drawing aggro.
When at higher levels they can also take out both NPCs and scouts.

I'm not sure about that, we've played teamed up and using SLFs without any problems. Maybe it's network or scenario dependent, but it can work.
Indeed. No idea what triggers the lag. I've seen it happen and have it happen.
(seen it happen to others in a CZ when someone launched, and lagged too)

When flying with our wing it doesn't happen, so there may be a correlation.
(this is when no-one else but our wing is around is what i mean)

Had a beautiful idea about this on Lave Radio last night.

Imagine you get past the maelstrom pulse wave and finally fly your ship to the heart of the cloud where you encounter a Thargoid hive ship, apparently covered in a weird, spiky outer exoskeleton. Then, as you approach closer, this exoskeleton starts to break up and suddenly flies apart, revealing it to be a cloud of these angry little scouts which proceed to swarm all over you.

The only snag is that the game probably couldn't handle that number of ships and would slow to a crawl so it's probably not that.

Shame tho ... can you imagine the horror just as you thought you'd made it to the end!

I fly with SLFs from myself and others in AXCZs all the time; rubberbanding happens sometimes, but normally settles after a little while.
It's rare these days; the faster connections get, the rarer it seems to be. I think it happens depending on who is involved in the P2P for the instance. If you are rubberbanding a lot, maybe the problem is you?
