Frequency Array Diagram

I too just stumbled across this, and I'd also like to say a big thank you for making it!

One additional detail about the FSS spectrum that might be of interest. As far as I can tell, when you have multiple planets/moons in the same band, their signals show up in order of atmospheric pressure. It's not uncommon to be scanning a bunch of, say, HMCs, and have them show up as two distinct squiggles on the graph. The signal on the left should contain all the airless and nearly-airless worlds (including all the landables), while the one on the right should be just bodies with a substantial atmosphere.

Since the system is supposed to be reading out some kind of signal "strength" I'm a little surprised that the ordering isn't by mass or distance. But atmosphere isn't totally unreasonable, since it does mean there's a way to visually pick out the presence of potentially landable bodies. That said, I haven't been able to work out yet what higher/lower signal strength means for things like asteroids or signal sources. I'm uncertain about gas giants too, although I currently suspect it's correlated with the presence of rings.

MR = Metal Rich
MRC = High Metal Content
ELW = Earthlike World
AW = ???
WW = Water World

Of these, the only ones worth doing a Detail Surface Scan of are WW, ELW, and MRC < is this correct?

LOL yeah, that MRC was just soft of a typo. Thanks!

What about the DSS question? I've been doing the Road to Riches and the only planets it sends me to are TWW (in this case, all WW), ELW, and HMC worlds. I assume the same applies when out in the deep: no need to scan anything but these three types, yes??

Hello, necro!

EDIT: added patterns. For some reason some body types have 2 (at least I encountered two) but I can't seem to find a correlation. Atmosphere, volcanism, terraforming candidate, no parameter seems to work. ...

I haven't read all 5 pages, but, I think this is because there's a common bug where the chevrons are misaligned, until you wiggle the slider some more.

The top patterns for Icy, WW, GGWBL, and Class 1 are not real patterns, for example (there'd be overlap between different body types if they were). Also, the AW pattern's top chevon is misaligned. Is OP still around to make another? I might use my poor image editing skills if not.

That is brilliant - excellent work - do one on white so i can print - or could invert it.

I did it - hope you don’t mind so i can stick it on my wall
