To all the people getting excited and dreaming up dinosaurs in Elite soon please remember that according to fanboys we were supposed to be riding roller coasters on planets in ED and have stations full of people by now
Those are separate games, the technologies aren`t that easily transferable because of the very specific nature of ED (PG/MP/p2p) , FD said it themselves (regarding transfering stuff from PC to ED)
Just please stop the nonsense guys because we all know that in two years you will be back-pedalling again and wondering why people expect dinosaurs and earthlikes and you`ll be saying stuff like "it was you who had unrealistic expectations, don`t blame Frontier".

We have been through this cycle multiple times now.
Remember how fans said that DDF was a set in stone featurelist once?
Remember how "space legs" were just behind the corner because "The outsider" and they had all of it ready.
Remember the "things confirmed to be in game before gamma" list
Remember the vertical slice theory?
Remember the " Elite Dangerous: Horizons and Future Updates" also confirmed with Dev quotes... multiple SRV`s, the moon, "settlements that will only ever get bigger over the course of horisons up to cities", Different types of planets including those with active volcanism?
Where is all this now? huh? Probably our fault yes?

I signed up to these forums to say THANKS as this game i have been waiting on for to long now but please devs take your time a get this game done proper, please don't dumb it down to much for the consoles as i don't want that carrying over to pc an i think that would be a big mistake imo.

We're talking about Horizons and Frontier never said Horizons would be a multi-year project. They sold it as a 'season' strongly implying it would be delivered inside one year. It is now approaching two years and Frontier will hasn't said when they'll deliver the finished goods.

Just saw some in-game footage of Jurassic World
I'm not sure if I'll ever pick it up, but it looks fantastic - the way the dinosaurs move is just like in the films, it is absolutely awesome to look at.
I'm hoping some of that lighting and those atmospheric FX makes it into Elite at some point? Not sure if this is developed with the Cobra engine, but if it is, wow, it is capable of so much if that is the case!

There is a community discord around somewhere (it's not official mind you).
Do note that there is currently no official discord server ran, managed, or hosted by us at Frontier Developments.
