Frontier: give the FSD to ALL players, regardless of whether they took part or not

Just make the FSD available again as a reward at some point in the future so anyone who missed it this time round can have another crack at it. Getting one for nothing is daft, and no I don't have one as like others I knew I wouldn't get to the top 25% so I never took part. I don't want one for free though, I want to at least earn it.

What if the reward tier went the other direction? Not as many people participated, so there's no harm in giving the FSD Reward to only the top 10 contributors, right?
Especially if you learn that they change that reward tier After the whole thing is said and done, completed and you can't put a lick more progress into it.

You don't change the rules of an event like a Football game or a Community Goal during or after.

We couldn't be bothered to get into the 25%. We could have been bothered to get into the 75%. We played by the rules, the rules changed, we get gently caressed by the rule change.
I would be equally undisturbed. :)

Give the players their reward.and put the blueprint in the engineer store.... Simples.

Logically it doesn't even make sense. Look at it this way if someone managed to eek an extra 15% range on anything would they a) let a few special snowflakes have access to it them bin the design*". Or B) sell the design and make a fortune.

**** Actually a) did kind of happen once in the early 90s with the electric car but that is an exception

I feel like I should just stop exploring and become a bubble bunny cause I miss absolutely everything, I'm so far its not even worth the trip back.

Make it available in Jameson Memorial only, for a substantial price after a period of time.
At the very least players have to earn Elite status then, it retains some exclusivity, and it’s not locked behind a once only competition.

That’s a great idea in general. Jameson is supposed to have EVERYTHING so maybe after a month or maybe more any exclusive module should become available there for a fixed price:

  • Players who earned the module originally in the CG (or whatever) can buy it for the standard module price
  • Anyone else can buy it for a 25% mark-up

That way everyone CAN get the modules but you have to earn Elite and those would originally earned it still get a small advantage on the cost?

You have - inadvertently I'm sure - penalised all those players that played by YOUR rules.

Many of them are now effectively worse off. Specifically:

1. Those that didn't bother to enter the CG as they knew they wouldn't have the time to reach the top 25%.
2. Those that entered but quit before 75% for the same reason.

If you are interested in being perceived to be fair (actually, just being fair!), and if you want to retain confidence, you should hand it out to everyone, and give the top 25% a paintjob or something, so at least their effort is rewarded.
And gif dese peeple hair, Cohagan!!

I deliberately didn't do the CG - why should I expect the module?
I don't honestly understand why the OP should be demanding it...
Read the first post. You getting it would simply be collateral damage. Or they can run another CG, or whatever, they just need to rectify it for those that they did over when they changed the rules after the event.

NAnd you still don't say why FDev should do this, beyond fairness, which is a load of dogs bullocks. Not that there was any real unfairness in this situation.

For the record, I never got a chance to participate, as the CG finished before I had any free time and normally I'm not narcissistic, especially about stuff in games, except maybe one little daliance campaigning for Odyssey VR... However, I came into this thread fully expecting to be willingly persuaded by an eloquent OP into thinking that because the CG was spanked before many had a chance to participate, primarily due to the super efficiency of carriers to bulk haul to CG's, it might have been sporting of Frontier to make the fancy FSD available to all. However, having read the OP, I'm sorry, I'm not buying your argument, other than to say the paint job for the 25%.

Sometimes Frontier get blindsided by participation in a CG, ironically with the Canonn Research goal for the building of the Gnosis, that CG was pushed so hard by the community that frontier had to add extra tiers to it, and it still completed tier ten or was it tier thirteen? This was Coalsack Nebula CG was one such event, this was also one of the few CG's the current Community Management team have ran, I do not think anyone on the team for the Gnosis CG is here now? So I can totally get why they made changes to the CG that others see as being "wrong", but I do not think anyone was actually "wronged"? But, give the top 25% a second module, or a paint job or something, saves anyone feeling too hurt. While I wouldn't say no to a free fancily engineered FSD, I don't think there is the need for the CG reward to be made available to all? And saying that is treading on my own toes.

So why people who got the module are offended by the idea that frontier change the terms again ?
For example: "All players can buy one 5A FSD with double engineering at a standard price at station X"

A long time ago there was one which opened up the ability to purchase an Imperial Clipper to anyone regardless of rank for a short period of time and I think this is a better way of doing it.

Just put the drive as the last tier stretch goal and sell it for a week or so and job done. People would still do the CG because they want the drive and the lazies and people who couldn't attend can then just buy it, and everyone could get on with their game lives.

I got this drive btw and couldn't care less who else got it but I think just handing it out to every game account would be ridiculous.

Because FD have no way of knowing who has lost out they can only fix it with a broad stroke of the brush.
