Game loses something by not forcing Open play

I could possibly see forcing you to only play Open as long as the bounty existed,

I think the idea is the bounty is stuck with the offending player for a certain amount of time (don't know how long, if it were me making the decisions, I'd make it 3 days), and during that period the offending player cannot pay off the bounty themselves - after the time period has elapsed, the bounty still exists, but can be paid off to 'clear' the offender's status, and they can go back to Solo mode if they want to.

but making Solo a stealth version of Open? I don't buy it.

Not sure what you mean by this ? ?

Glad to be of service. The point I was making relates to players who get their jollies from preferentially selecting other players as unwilling targets for their attentions and comparing that to NPCs which, not being sentient, have no emotional response.

tey are programmed for killing players , griefer devs?

srry m8 , this point is mood

if you have such heavy emotional respons from a game its time to have a walk outside or so.

You had said:
I knew I'd read it somewhere - probably needs a dev to confirm, but even if you save & exit -> start -> solo and you have a bounty for attacking another player - other commanders can 'see' you.
Only commanders without a bounty from the pilot's federation (which is issued when you murder another player, but not NPCs) can 'hide' in Solo/Private Group

Which I read as saying that even if you started in Solo, you would actually be playing Open, as other people could see and interact with you.

I probably do need some fresh air - it's nice and crisp outside today, from memory.... ;)

Yes, but I've not tried myself (if it's even implemented yet), so I don't know if the 'Solo' option is available when starting the game in this scenario - I assumed it was, but trying to start in Solo would simply put the player in Open (which I now understand as your meaning of 'stealth' version of open)

I am going to have to test it :D

Judging by how people react to lack of offline mode, and now how open play is not forced - I feel sorry for every developer trying to create a game.
There's just no end to whining and way to please everyone. These guys must have nerves of steel.

FD worked with Microsoft they have Chuck Norris-Types of nerves...

Time spent with cats is never wasted!

Until "I don't want to play any more." Bite bite scratch scratch.

I agree that the game would gain something from forcing open play, but the people whining about not having offline mode and people whining about interdictions and pretty much every other part of player interaction would get so loud and obnoxious the forums would probably have to be shut down.

HOWEVER; in it's current state, having a solo mode option is a good way to let players work around bugs and stuff. Once the game is stable and has more online features I'd say the game would benefit from removing solo play altogether.

Let the flaming commence.

So everyone agrees that a solo career should be separate from an online career.

If this is one of the features that are on the 'cutting room floor' then, later, if it gets implemented, I would expect a full online wipe later on.

《Adding another controversy into the 'childmens' debate.》 :D

I think the only thing anyone can agree on is to agree that an agreement to agree is probably not feasible or agreeable...Would you agree?
.
Try saying that fast

Would I agree to agree, or agree to not agree? That is the agreement, whether it is better to go into that dark solo night... or to face the fullness of pvp...

I strongly disagree in a proposal to split the community by creating two separate version of the same universe that can never meet. Its big enough out there as it is, why would anyone want to further reduce the player pool that they can potentially play with?

Impressive from you to ignore the posts that disagreed.

Everyone - anthony < everyone just for starters.

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say.
You seem to think I agree that "So everyone agrees that a solo career should be separate from an online career.", but I have no idea why you would think that.

When people quote this, can you at lest notice what Pyelot said properly.

Notice the "full wipe" comment, notice the *big grin* at the end....

geez folks, it's not rocket science :p
