Still reeling from this series, it just keeps getting better and better.

And I never thought I'd like Jamie Lannister

We so need more daenerys targaryen (a whole episode would be nice.....:D

or a spin off series even! Mmmm ;)

Am just fearful for Tyrions safety with the shows notorious way of killing favorite characters! :(......and yeah Jamie has so Changed! but again i still wouldnt put it past him to shock when we least suspect

and that big bald guy on the Kings council(forgot name) i suspect hes gonna play a big part and reveal some revelations, just my opinion mind :)

Oh and just on a side note, anyone who enjoyed the German film "Das Boot" i just finished watching the three part German series during WW2 "Generation war" last night, it was excellent and i highly recommend watching, great story and characters.

Sums it up quite nicely. :D

Are there many here who have not read the book series before seeing the televised version?

I'm guessing there are a fair few, as they are unaware of the storyline. I've read the books before the series, but I have to say, they've done a fantastic job of televising it, and the casting is superb.

Judging from the preceding discussion, I'd say there are quite a few. I've read them and I must say that this is proving to be one of the rare times when a TV series improves upon the original novel(s). The only other example that I can recall is Pillars of the Earth.

I've read Book 1 and I've stopped reading the rest as I'm finding that i enjoy the TV series so much. And until the books have pictures of Daenerys Targaryen in them...... I'll stick with the TV series for now.

Only 2 episode left this series.....

Keeps getting better and better.

Can't believe he killed the Viper, fantastically choreographed fight.

Own the books (been buying them since they were originally released), but I haven't read them. I like to read a series when it's complete. Nothing worse that a two-year gap between books, trying to remember who the hell everyone is and struggling to recall all the intricate plot details.

There is a spoiler under the spoiler tags, don't bother looking unless you really want to know...
A crushed head!!!! Yummy! The Mountain dies soon anyway...

I read the books, but love watching the TV series too.
Brian :)

You should really use a double spoiler there! You not only give away what happened in the current show, but also a future event. :p

Don't people have their own self discipline?

I suppose not, it is Game of thrones after all...

Brian :)

Spoiler ahead!

Great end to series 4, can't wait for series 5!

Are you sure you want to continue?
What an undignified end to Tywin :p On the Privvy...

Also I'm still not sure why Tyrion killed Shae? Was it revenge against Tywin?

Can't wait for Series 5 and 6 - nice to see they are stretching it to two new series rather than just one.

It was for being betrayed by one he fell in love with, that then turned on him under the influence of his father. The resentment against his father actions in this particular case also goes much deeper as his father had previously, and often, meddled with his objects of affection.

Best series yet.

Gutted that they only do 10 episodes per series, It could easily be twice that many and still be brilliant.

Tempted to read the books up to where the series has just finished, but I'm not sure if it would be halfway through and the temptation to continue would be too great.

Will give it a few weeks and start from the beginning again.

I wouldn't worry, the TV series has exhausted the best of the books (Guardian article here sums it up nicely) and they'll really have to veer away from the books a fair amount to maintain the level they've achieved. Book 3 gave us 2 series, I'm halfway through book 4 and I barely see one episode! :D
