Games that should be remade.

P.S. I saw you in space the other day, Commander Mollymawk. Comm'd you, but I think you were interdicted before you've managed to reply :)

I am sorry, I do that all the time. Every session change auto-closes the coms window. The is no audio notification, and if I am in flying normal space I'm too busy to look.

I've missed dozens of people saying Hi, by the time I notice, the person is gone, in a lonely universe its enough to make you cry.

No problem, the comms system is well crippled at the moment, so we need to appreciate that. See you in space!

Probably old news to most of you, but the old Gabriel Knight adventure game is being remade as well.

I only found out about it a couple of days ago when a preview code landed on my e-mail account. Only the first two days are playable at this point, but it will be a fun game to play when finished.

Genesia from Thomas Zighem (Microids)

Deuteros The next millenium from Ian Bird (Activision)

Frequently playing on these ;-)

Ah, deuteros... I finished Millenium 2.2 but never completed its sequel as I remember. Would be good for a re-imagining.

Deuteros was a personal favorite of mine too, I even tried to do a minecraft texture pack based on it..XD

Now..regarding some games..

1. Some of the old adventure games from Delphine (future wars, operation stealth, cruise for a corpse).

2. A new take on a personal favorite, the old Utopia game (Civilization: Beyond Earth doesn't count :p)

3. A proper sequel to the 1987 KOEI epic, Genghis Khan (m&b or EUIV don't count).

4. Ports of Call.

5. Harpoon.

Hell yes, Operation Stealth was a great one.
Utopia was also really good, that remind me of K240 ;)

K240 was a good sequel, it really lacked though the two things I loved most about Utopia. Its soundtrack and the different planetscapes/maps (all the asteroids looked and functioned the same).

I always loved Command and Conquer back in the day. The old RTS ploy of harvesting something to expand was always a good way to waste hours and hours of my time.

I think I'd like to see a remake of the original Unreal. But it would HAVE to be as amazing as the original version and not ruined by un-nessessary stuff, because it had the perfect feel and atmosphere. It also had one of the best and most unique soundtracks ever in a game, so that would have to be matched :)

The first deus Ex game I'm not a graphic guy, but Deus Ex has age terribly and the newer generation are missing out on a true FPS-RPG experience.

&

Microprose Red Storm Rising because there is still no other submarine sim that comes close to the balance, campaigns and realism Red Storm had.

Another of my top 5 games being remade

This game (along with dungeon master) is the reason I upgraded my amiga to 1 mb. (yep 1mb, I paid £45 for a 512kb memory expansion card ;) )

Its one of my all time fave games. I have bought Elite D, I have bought legend of grimrock (essentially dungeon master) I suppose I should buy this too.

All I need now is stunt car racer...... I am seriously considering looking at unity and having a dabble myself for that one.... though I guess I will never get around to it!.

*sigh*

I thought you mighy have said "Sabre Wulf" :D

There was an attempted remake a few years ago but nothing came of it.

Sabre Wulf was my favourite game on the BBC... Such good memories, I downloaded it for my emulator but I've recently got the old BBC from my dad, just haven't tried to fire it up yet...
