Games that should be remade.

Loved the original back in the 80s, they did a remake but it was more of a re-skin.

Wouldn't mind seeing it as a 1st person game, more RPG like with progression. It'd need to be more than the original to survive today as anything other than a phone app.

I wanted Damocles (Mercenary II) so bad that its what made me buy an Amiga .... I really miss reading all those mags and drooling over those Awesome screenshots ....Its just not the same now :(

If David Braben does make a remake of it I hope it's a little more forgiving than the original. In the end I had to use a cheat to make the game playable.

I used to love the 'spy vs spy' games.

I've no idea how or if it would work today, but god I used to love playing those.

Earth & Beyond. Westwood Studios knocked it out of the park and EA cut 'em off at the kneecaps. Was way ahead of its time and would rock if redesigned today imho. Also a today's technology version of Grand Prix Legends would be cool.

Just kidding of course, but I have been longing for a HardWar remake or sequel just as much as I longed for a new Elite game.

Obviously the X-Wing series.

Would love to see Glyn Willliams (I-War 1 & 2) making a space sim again.
After all, he was the 1st to implement newtonian physics into space sim (Warhead 1989).

X-Com Apocalypse with all its features like factions, a whole working city, crumbling buildings and accidental fires that waste whole appartment blocks or exploding factories that cause a war due to a scared trigger happy rookie.
(Could use a better story and setting though).

People have mentioned Laser Squad. The Gollop brothers did produce Laser Squad Nemesis some years ago as an online game. Very much like X-Com in appearance. I used to play it before they shut down the server. The game still works but only for the 1 player missions. People are still hoping that they might release the server code, or redo it as a Play By Email game, which would be best. No luck yet on that front, though :(

The game that I'd like to see remade is "They Stole A Million" :) I think if they remade it, it would have to be called "They Stole a Billion."

Inflation, see.

totaly off topic other games that need a re make

had this conversation with my lad about old classics
he came up with one called radnorroc (dunno never heard of it )
and I came up with rogue which I remember playing on my 8086


any other ideas comments

oh and as your bound to wonder what was the first
it was pong on the zx81 hand typed in on the membrane keyboard and the clock both copyed from a magazine
