Would be nice if FD could confirm or not if we will be able to store our commodities in our FC

No later than in Mining Role, I'd say we'd have to. Otherwise, what Utility would the Carrier provide to a Miner (?)
For a mere "mobile Limpet Supply Service", the cost of acquisition, equipment and fuel/upkeep would seem entirely unfeasible in that regard.

I personally hope for a Cargo Space of at least 10.000t in a Mining Config in order to make it worthwhile to go Deep Space Mining far away from inhabited Systems..

Well, I would love it and it makes perfect sense.

One caveat to this: if the game crashes for whatever reason, NPCs will spawn near you when you log back in. If you're lucky they'll be authority ships and/or neutral miners. If they're pirates, you need to be able to fight or run. It's annoying, but if you can't fight often the safest solution is to take whatever cargo you already have to a station, sell it and return. Another option after running away is to drop into another mining location and see what ships spawn. If they're friendlies you're OK, otherwise rinse and repeat. But this can take ages if RNGesus isn't with you. Emptying the hold of "juicy cargo" is often easier in the long run.
The game has crashed twice on me this week while mining both times with we'll over 150t of VO's, and LTD's, normally don't mind, just log back in and deal with pirates but on these 2 occasions it's crashed and respawned me at rebuy screen in the last station with all cargo gone. Game crashed on me plenty in past but never lost cargo or had ship destroyed

Ouch, that's new. I'd definitely get that one ticketed, especially if you have log files and/or video. Most of the known CTDs afflicting ED are annoying but semi-graceful in that they're recoverable with minimal knock-on effect if you're prepared for them (the last one that got me was respawning inside neutron star jets, but that was patched a few versions ago). But this sounds horrible. I regularly spend between 90 minutes and a couple of hours doing core mining. If I lost the lot like this I'd be mighty peeved to say the least.

I just rewatched the trailer and noticed that the mining example is made by an amateur!

  • Who would mine on with 20% hull left when there's a fleet carrier around for repairs?!?
  • And that asteroid... TOTALLY overcharged!

You really need to hire a specialist for your videos. This is not believable footage!
I just hope nobody got hurt making the video... The carriers are real though, right?

shakes head a few times in disappointment

If this is the FC feedback thread - Question (may have already been asked): will FC's able to be sold (like ships)? Seems to me that players will have a lot a credits tied up and may want or need to trade it in at some point.

Reading the Dev Posts is good m'kay?

Can you sell Fleet Carriers?
Fleet Carriers can be scrapped, however, it will be for fewer credits than the original purchase amount.

Edit : Basically they're gonna be like an evolution of the Gnosis (which probably served as a way for Fdev to test a lot of stuff). And the gnosis is like a station regarding everything (so if it has a shipyard, ship transfer will be a thing).

The Gnosis doesn't have a shipyard, and is limited to one ship per CMDR. All other existing moving dockable megaships have the same limitation.

Seems dodgy there's only 8L, 4M and 4S pads when there's 9 ships in the game that need large pads, 15 medium and 13 (+1 Cobra MkIV) small. How exactly are you supposed to fit your entire "fleet" on it?

If we can only dock one personal ship on board, is that just the one that can refuel it?

Frontier should answer whether Fleet Carriers can be damaged. How are FC useful for PVP type gameplay? Can the FC move inside a star system?

They said they can't be destroyed and that probably also extends to being damaged.

I guess their only use for PvP is carrying your FDL with tiny jump range to other locations without having to use the ship transfer mechanic.

As for whether they can move inside a system, if we can select a planet to be near, then i'd guess yes. If we get put in a point near a star, then i guess no.

Nobody has said 1 pad = 1 ship. It doesn't work like that on stations or megaships. There is no reason for FCs to be limited by pads either. Their will probably be a cap (which someone with a crazy amount of ships will of course complain about, but i'm hoping they make it reasonably high.
