GeForce Now patching process extremely slow

On EPIC This is what we were waiting for - 'We are currently patching this game. It will be ready to play in a few hours'
This is Friday 19/04/24 22:45 - 33 hours after update 18.03!!!! Come on - EPIC should be more observant.

Still says updating 9 hours later, not sure what Nvidia are up to. On my current ticket I'm trying to see if there's an escalation process.

<update> an hour after the above, now playable.

Yep, I got in after 11:00 today (Sat).
They have also emailed re my recent ticket and the last one on update U18:02 to apologise and that they are looking in to a faster solution, so maybe they will be looking out for the update next time (doubt it)

That's the first time I've heard Nvidia mention looking at the underlying problem rather than the immediate fix (usually it's just "update applied, the game is now playable, please confirm"), so maybe things are moving in the right direction (slowly).

We'll have to ask Fdev for an 18.04 next week to test ;)

I was only a couple of weeks out:

Uh Oh, well I've gone and done it!
Went for Ody as £9.99 on Epic. Trouble is we won't be able to play for 2-3 days after U18.04 (due to NVidia not updating Epic immediately) so I am running the Ody tutorial now to get it out of the way.
@Rat Catcher did say it could be rough at first and it is - I have to set up on foot buttons on DS4 controller for each bind as none set up!
(I have not played a keyboard and mouse game (Doom, or was it Quake, for many years, that's why I went for console - PS!!!)

Hopefully, I won't need much on foot stuff after tutorial and get straight into my own FC and see what she's like for first time and last time!

Once you jump the first hurdles (lots of cussing and imbibing reassuring sustances) I hope you have a great time...
The first 10,000 hours are the worst... :ROFLMAO: (with apologies to Marvin for plagiarism!)

Yep,
Did the tutorial OK ---- it wasn't so bad.
Walked around my own FC after - - - - don't need that again - prefer to land, repair, refuel, change ship and auto launch - no need to disembark again - ever.

Prepping Fallout 4 on my PS4 (glad I haven't even got the next gen updates as only on PS4!!!!) ready for few days without ED after U18.04 on GForceNow.

OK, GFN Steam client is already on 18.04 and the game is playable, Epic client is.... UPDATING! Same day, a few minutes after the patch became available!

Definite progress - hope it completes OK...

Me too, Nvidia have finally fixed it! Epic still took a few hours compared to Steam's few minutes, but d*mn I'll take it!

Will find my tickets and posts with Nvidia and leave some positive messages.

18.05 - looks like Nvidia didn't fix the underlying update issue after all <sigh>

Nvidia ticket/issue feedback etc. raised as usual.

These weekly updates must be great for you guys.😅

<grumble grumble mild expletive>

I didn't realise how much I'd lucked out when I used a Steam account for my console->PC migration in Nov '22, Nvidia's updates for Steam ED have been very slick. But the Epic alt I bought last December..... grrrrrr. At least I'm just going to send the alt into the black, not particularly time sensitive. I'd be crushing nuggets if it was my main and I wanted to damage a Titan.

Optimistically tried log in on EPIC - duh, maybe tomorrow.

BTW, I tried Bombing Hadad yesterday (Monday evening 27/05/24), in 3 runs got 105k, 110k and final run 160k.
4 vents each time and roughly same time on core, not scientific, but enough to show me the average Cr pre U18.06.
Will try again on 3 runs whenever I can get in, to see if nerfed to zero.

Luckily got Fallout 4 to play through, never played it before, only went through 3 and New Vegas before, several times for the different endings.
