GeForce Now patching process extremely slow

Hasn't happened yet to my knowledge, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility, if you read back through this thread there was an instance where Fdev released a new patch 10 days after Nvidia finally applied the previous one.

I'll always think back fondly on 18.04, Nvidia patched Epic same day for that. Good times. Well, good time.

Hi all, so glad I found this thread.. im on series x using Epic store. I get kicked out after I've done the update installation and clicked PLAY. Says "game quit unexpectedly" with error code 0x00F2232B. Is this the same for you?? Not played for a few months.. thought I'd done something wrong! Cheers

That's exactly what I get.
2 Different devices using GeforceNow:

On Nvidia Shield TV PRO:
I click UPDATE, goes to Preparing update, preparing manifest, synching files, updates to 100% and then Press PLAY but get 'Cannot Connect to EU West' (or whichever server you connect to) and error code 8003001f.

On Laptop using GeForceNow:
'game quit unexpectedly. Try again' on laptop.

It will get patched some time, just don't know when (has taken up to 4 days before)

Note This is NOT YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION, it is definitely the Update not applied yet

Thanks for advice mate. I'll keep an eye on this thread and give it a day or two. Really helpful cheers o7

Sunday - still no sign of the patch for 18.08.
Usually I get the "We are currently patching the game. Please try again in a few hours" message but not getting even that yet.
Pinging them with more 'issues' feedback, but it is a Sunday and Level 3 techs/support may not be in 'til Monday (pm as they seem to be 8 hours behind UK time).

Ah good work. Yeah hopefully tomorrow or early week they'll sort it...

I think Cmdr Smeggysmeg mentioned on an earlier post that they used the GFN Steam game client? GFN Epic's still on the old client for me, with no sign of an update. Where are we, let's call it 114 hours so far.

Just tried Epic, looks like it's been updated overnight and is playable again. Not sure when overnight - call it 132 hours for round numbers?

Finally decided to try this out. Are you guys using PC's? I am trying to play on Xbox but there is insane input lag. I can't even complete the tutorial! I can't imagine trying to fly like this.

I'm playing from a Shield TV box with the GFN application installed, ethernet cable to internet router. Wireless DS4 controller. No particular problems playing, other than my own lack of skill.

Depends a lot on your internet connection, I think. In the GFN app you get to choose which region to connect to, and it performs a network test to check latency etc. are acceptable. This all returning OK?

There's no app for Xbox so I'm just streaming it from the Edge browser. Looking at the settings there only gives me the option to change server region and bitrate, resolution, fps. I'll try changing region to mine later, GeForce claims it is currently patching Elite for some reason.

Ah, gotcha. I thought GFN automatically selected a default region (based on IP address I presume), but if it's picked something wildly inappropriate then that would definitely affect its performance. But Googling does bring up other reports of similar problems running GFN from Edge:

Phew, <wipes brow> just got home hoping to play all week from now and then news said 'Update'.
Oh No, I thought, another 4 days without!!!.

Tried logging in an fortunately it is a Server side update and not Client (players) update. IN!!

Can I pop in here and ask about something unrelated to the top topic?

Has anybody noticed unstable frame rates while playing Elite using GFN? In the past, the game ran as flawlessly on GFN as it did on my local hardware, i.e., a rock solid 60 fps (capped) everywhere but at settlements (with the usual fluctuations there). Now, even sitting idle in my cockpit, the fps constantly fluctuates between 48-60 nonstop. As an experiment, I capped the framerate at 90 and now it fluctuates between 70-90 constantly, up and down, up and down nonstop. I lowered the settings but that hasn't changed anything. It doesn't seem to be related to the graphics. I might try upgrading to the "Ultimate" tier to see if that makes a difference (it shouldn't because I've been running Elite just fine on this tier for YEARS now but I wouldn't put it past nVidia to start throttling lower tiers). I will also try a different server region (my gut tells me this has something to do with GFN servers).

I recall encountering this problem a few months back where exiting the game and starting it again seemed to help. But this hasn't worked so far.

EDIT: My hunch was right. I switched from the automatically selected US Northeast server location for GFN to US East and the wild framerates disappeared and returned to a solid 60 FPS. Apparently, it does have something to do with GFN servers. Now that I think about it, the last time this happened the Northeast servers went offline for maintenance for a day or two and I had to manually switch to the East servers where the framerate issue disappeared. Something going on with the NE servers. I think I might upgrade to Ultimate to see if that makes a difference, too.

EDIT 2: Yesterday, GFN debuted the open beta for Black Ops 6. I suspect the GFN servers got hammered. Today, the service is back to normal.
