Engineers Guide: Fast way to find Occupied Escape Pods near Colonia

Yes it is! First scan is dont work!
looks like point of scan moved inside the center of ship's model, and minimum distance to it is 375m, but Data Link Scanner works only 200m away (how it says in-game module description). So you guys do a beautiful guide but seems like things do wrong after last updates. We have point of scan, we have a mesadge "this can be scaned for details" in information panel but scan is simply impossible now.

I've been having issues scanning the wreck to reveal the escape hatch. I target the ship, and activate the data scanner, but nothing happens. Am I doing it wrong?

Works for me - the data link scanner is able to scan the main ship target at well over 200m for me.

Whats the name of the cargo ship you are looking for in Luchtaine ? I think i might be going to the wrong one, the one that shows up in the nav panel, gordon class cargo ship, but its empty.

"Distress Call"
I've got a screenshot of its nav panel appearance on the previous page

Thanks mate! Still works flawlessly!

Now i have 26 of these poor souls to sell, and have to choose which one to spare!!

Have been flying about around this thing for a while. datalink scanned and checked out the Escape hatch and cargo pods but it's coming up as invalid limpet target.
Anyone got any ideas?
Hah! talked that up, after about the 5th scan of each hatch have finally got the sub-targets showing.

I have the same issue as described by Andrey22 above.

Closest I can get to the megaship target is about 300m, but the Data Link Scanner (right hand panel - details) says its range is 200m. It doesn't allow me to scan it. Has anyone checked the OP method recently? Or, any ideas why it's not working?

The data link scanner has a much longer range for scanning really big objects, so you should be able to scan the ship itself from several kilometres away. You'll need to get within 200m of the sub-targets but that's easier to do.

I haven't checked since the September update on this particular megaship, but it has worked on others.

Thanks Ian. I should have faffed around with it a bit more before posting because I just got it working.

I deployed hardpoints, went into combat mode, and then it worked from a range of well over 300m. In short, don't be in Analysis mode, which is a little counter intuitive. :)

Nope - DL scanner works in both modes. You do need to deploy hardpoints though...

+1 for a great walkthrough, although I would have been able to figure this out myself, of course...🤥, not 🥴
I wonder which part of the manual I skipped this time.
