1) NPC Crew should not get % if not active.
2) NPC crew should not die but if they "die" you have to pick them up at the station of origin.
3) Lower the % NPC crew gets by half.
Man, I'd love it if my company never paid me whilst I was on leave. Oh wait, no I wouldn't. I'm sure you'd have no problem with that either, right? We pay a retainer. That's hardly illogical.
MoM's 2.1 AI had to be hit with the lobotomy hammer because people couldn't cope with competent AI; one doesn't get to have nice shiny new AI that don't die, but only when they are retained as crew. It's beyond inconsistent.
Don't want to lose crew? Multi-crew is the answer. Problem solved. And they don't even cost you anything! Also? Most can shoot straight. And have some sort of survival instinct. Crazy, I know.
Lots of players use self enforced ironman modes - isonona wont rebuy his ships, some go even further and wipe their characters on death. That is cool and I respect it, I do the same in many games.
This game however is not one of them. If people want their crew to "die", fine. Even make it a game option or something. But I don't want my crew to die.
Your crew are AI. They exist, to die. This has been repeated so often, as to be de-facto arguments for why AI aren't competent. I'd have no problem with AI crew surviving, but AI do have to return to their 2.1 levels, or better, to compensate. Otherwise it's inconsistent twaddle.
