Okay, this just got interestingThe OP has reported the closing post - thread re-opened as requested.
We were promised space legs
Do you not remember when a certain David Braben said:nope no nope no no. incorrect.
It does not take 5 years to create what was promised
Its one of those “but they didn’t actually use the word promise” type of things.Do you not remember when a certain David Braben said:
“The future for Elite Dangerous is very exciting, including a whole raft of incredible features, yes including 'space legs' but so many more things too.”
Or:
“I’ve said over a long time I'm very excited about some features that we will do down the road including things like landing on planets, walking around inside your spaceship, getting out of your spaceship, all of those things I think are very very exciting and obviously those are in the long-term roadmap.“
Or:
“There was a lot of discussion prior to and during the Kickstarter project as to whether you should be able to walk around in your ship. We looked at that in great detail. Ultimately we decided the arbiter has to be, ‘Does it make the game more fun?’ Because it’s a lot of extra work and it brings in more constraints. It’s something we will do, but it’ll be in a future update because we need so many things on a human scale for that to be additive and enjoyable.”
Or the Kickstarter info that says:
"You will be able to walk around the spaceport, you will be able to see gold being loaded into someone else's ship, you will be able to sneak in and hide in amongst the cargo.“
Or the various dev videos where they say it’s something they’re going to do?
I do.

Moreover, keep in mind that Elite barely generates any revenue, so if they want to keep people working on the game, they basically need to have secondary income sources. It's not that other space game we're talking about, they do not have infinite budget.
So...its just pie in the sky and cloud talk, non of it is a promise so why people are feeling so entitled about it is bonkers, everything you quoted is "future" tense the future is a moving feast with no timescale. soon™
if he specifically said we would have space legs by the 24th of Jan 2020 you would have a point.
...thought so.Its one of those “but they didn’t actually use the word promise” type of things.
Feel like any form of ' leak' like these are a Schrodinger's cat type of thing. They are both completely true and a complete lie until it's finally either one or the other. I find it a lot easier to digest as a complete lie until proven otherwise. that way we're not all really butt hurt whenever it turns out it was a complete lie or extremely happy when it turns out to be trueIf the leak is true, then space legs is on its way this year.... possibly, maybe.
Nope. They never promised those thing. They said they would love to do them as expansions if it was possible. They only ever promised a multiplayer updated version of the original game.
Actually, the counter is 'development of the game didn't stop yet.'So far the counter to 'were we lied to?' seems to be 'no we were conned' which isn't very encouraging.
Very much looking forward to finding out what FDev have to say rather than making assumptions.
