This exactly shows how useless those lists are, Rock Hyrax is more popular than a primate or wolverine. This is just too funny. Another Tasmanian devil situation all along.
The reasoning behind the wolverine being so low likely has less to do with people not wanting it, and more to do with plenty of people either wanting it in another pack or not finding the wolverine to be much of a mountains animal. And I can back that up by pointing to literally any discussion of a mountains-based pack going back into literally last year. The wolverine is apparently our most desired animal yet a clone bear has more than double the votes here, there's a reason why I have never trusted years old wishlists to determine what the community currently wants.
But I vote for your thread!Sorry, but I have a same thread with this!

Essential Alpine/Highlands animal wishlist
In the past few days, I have started biome/habitat based wishlists. The island ad savanna wishlists are done, but unfortunately there are still few voters. If you want to join these two wishlists, you can find them here...forums.frontier.co.uk
I think people would like a wolverine, it’s just an animal better suited for another pack (like taiga, tundra or Eurasia) than a mountain pack.most people don’t actually want the Wolverine, they just think it’s going to be in the pack which is why it’s so low, because I took the votes from people’s dream lists.
That's simply because it's the one that everyone expects in the pack.Damn actually surprised to see the bear at top spot
Also because it’s a very common South American species which is endemic to mountains and is extraordinarily common in zoos throughout the world (especially in comparison to other bear species)That's simply because it's the one that everyone expects in the pack.

No but for real, is the spectacled bear really way more common than the ABB? Because I've seen a few enclosures with black bears but not 1 spectacled bearAlso because it’s a very common South American species which is endemic to mountains and is extraordinarily common in zoos throughout the world (especially in comparison to other bear species)
Spectacled bears are rather uncommon in captivity just like other tropical bears. It could be even least common due to specific range within its distribution so not much zoos in native range have them.No but for real, is the spectacled bear really way more common than the ABB? For EU and nearby locations, it is exactly the same number of holdings (24) according to Zootierliste for both of them. I guess in US the ABB would be more common? No but for real, is the spectacled bear really way more common than the ABB? Because I've seen a few enclosures with black bears but not 1 spectacled bear
In the UK multiple zoos have spectacled bears (6, I believe) and they’re the second most common (after the previously native European brown bear which is in 10 zoos). Only 1 zoo has the American black bear to my knowledge. No but for real, is the spectacled bear really way more common than the ABB? American black bears and spectacled bears share the same number of holdings here in Australia and New Zealand too (noneFor EU and nearby locations, it is exactly the same number of holdings (24) according to Zootierliste for both of them.
Appreciate them now, because your region is phasing out bears for good.American black bears and spectacled bears share the same number of holdings here in Australia and New Zealand too (none)
It is kind of funny how the only bear species kept in more than one facility in Australasia is the comparatively rare-in-zoos sun bear, but they're the best bear anyway so I'm happy it's them (also make sense given they're the bear that lives closest to the region, with most individuals descending from/being rescue animals from Cambodia).
Everyone knows Sun Bears are not real. Those are zookeepers dressed in a bear suit.American black bears and spectacled bears share the same number of holdings here in Australia and New Zealand too (none)
