How long would you wait for Odyssey to add VR?

Since we're all speculating anyways....

If FDev are dropping VR support and your pleas to have it added are heard and FDev commit to reworking the entire expansion to properly support VR..... but it takes an extra two years to do it, what would you all say?

Could you live with no VR for two years based on a promise, would you still quit playing the game altogether and maybe come back in two years, or do you think FDev should hold up the entire expansion for two more years?

It seems extremely unlikely they will break VR for Horizons owners. If I have to wait two years before on-foot escapades are available to me as a VR owner, then I'll stick with the VR rather than the space legs.

I only play Elite in VR.
I spent the first 2 years in 2d and I'd never go back to it.
If I want a standard space sim pc shooter with keyboard and mouse, id boot up some other triple A title.

Elite is immersive and wonderful in VR. The fleet carriers weren't overly going to pull me back in as they are just beyond my reach, but I was OK with that.
This WAS going to captivate me, but I don't see the point in buying an expansion to a game with only half the functionality of the base game.

Would people buy this if playing in odysee gave you only half as many ships to play with? Cut out the cutter and corvette and only giving the conda for example....?

I guess I might toodle around with my FC in Horizons for a while, but no point in investing in any ARX or grinds.

I won't be waiting for VR support to be added because I don't think that will happen. Right now I'm waiting for MS Flight Simulator 2020 with VR, it looks like that's going to be my new VR game.

This VR nonsense is simply crazy. No VR???????? And what about those of us who've become RELIANT on that particular interface? We're stuck with Horizons forever since Odyssey will likely remain a no-VR environment?

Frontier has completely lost all perspective, I'm afraid. Very poor decision!!!

If I am being honest, I can fly VR all day but I'm just not cut out to drive VR for very long. If walking VR is even worse, I'm not even sure this makes any difference to me.

"Wait" implies that I'm sitting bored in a waiting room reading old Good Housekeeping magazines. I'm not. I've been happily playing Space Engineers for weeks now since I learned ED is stalled out until next year (Fleet Carriers don't interest me and Interstellar Initiatives have been removed). So I was already willing to keep an idle, untouched copy of ED on my hard drive for many months, and if I don't fill* up my hard drive between now and whenever something exciting happens in the game, I can "wait" for as long as it takes.

* MSFS 2020 might just be the game to do this!

It's cool, I'll wait for VR - don't really trust 'em to implement it later if I'm honest... like the comets, different SRVs, improved Powerplay, ice planets, the new scatter rock tech, gas giants clouds that Braben showed off in 2015 etc etc etc...

I’m extremely doubtful of any future VR implementation in Odyssey. Which I’m okay with as I’ve never been sure that space legs was something that I wanted but thats just a personal opinion.

What does concern me is how the new DLC and future updates of it will affect Horizons and the base game. Will we end up with a similar type of effect that Engineering had on base game owners I.e. flying in Open became much harder to survive in by not ‘buying in.’ Plus, do those of us sticking with Horizons get any of the graphic tweaks, do we get to enjoy flying down to these swanky planet surfaces in VR or do we come to a standstill in terms of the Cobra engine?

FDev have their work cut out just answering the questions that will be coming their way over the next six ( to twelve) months prior to release.

it may not be supported but they don't say it won't work.
IE isn't supported either but I'm using it to write this and more...

I'm unable to go for VR for the simple fact that I use LOTS of key binds to the point there's not a single spare key... which makes me wonder how do you guys manage to play in VR without a massive number of buttons available to be mapped... I'd have my ship shot to pieces in no time if I had to rely on game's menu for everything I do.

Quite happy with my 4K monitor, though!
