I'll just say 1.3...![]()
Let's twist this around and play a little bit of Jeopardy!
"Is a feature of 1.4!"
Now you say...?
I'll just say 1.3...![]()
Always dock and undock with the landing gear DOWN (the ship isn't actually larger and it allows thrust buttons to work)
I'm having second thoughts about getting an Anaconda if you can lose it so easily to a bugs when docking.
Don't quite understand this point, surely thrust controls work all the time?
I don't own a Conda yet, (can't afford one), so don't know if its specifically different for that ship but, every single ship I have bought and flown, the thrust controls work regardless of whether the landing gear is up or down, they always work.
Interesting. I hadn't heard that before but I have had some funny occurrences with the entrance to the slot recently, most notably this morning where my Anaconda with 4A shield and 8 (count 'em) A-rated shield boosters just clipped the side of the slot at I'd guess no more than 120m/s and kaboom! You don't lose it easily to bugs on landing. There may have been a few inatances of it happening (as there have been people losing other ships for unexplained reasons).
Most look like they may have been from people going through the docking port with landing gear down (and ripping it off) although I have seen one vid of someone who didn't.
That is why the recommendation to enter with gear down is so wrong.

I had the insurance and at this point I'm just grinding for trade Elite so I don't care about the money but it was something of a shock to lose the ship for no discernable reason. Thinking about it I did deploy the gear while going through the slot.
This is a way that you will be able to dock an Anaconda. You can dock one like anything else if you like but this way works for me and it is precise and works every time. It also avoids overshoot of the docking pad and the pad number is irrelevant.
This will work for any ship just adjust the bit about where the cockpit is i.e. the first line.
Everything else is the same (although only really relevant for large ships).
You know this would be my answer too... especially after my 1.3 update...![]()
