HTC Vive resolution and  focus

Would the thread be more suitable in the support forum? Although things weren't much better there as the Radeon/Win 10 supercruise bug demonstrated.

Personally I would say that the thread should stay here to at least provide info for potential VR users. The point is that in reality ED should not be using the Supports Vive sticker in steam at the moment as their support is not properly implemented and when compared to other games which declare support for Vive ED is among the worst offenders when it comes scale/size perception or AA issues and if hidden in support most people will never read it or in the worst case think that the issue is with their Vive.... What does make me rather grumpy is that I remember FD saying how amazing was the experience in Vive and how much better it was then DK2 ect and they have not delivered that experience they speak of to their users. If FD said - look guys we have issues with Vive and it looks like a sparkly mess when you reach a station I probably wouldn't have pulled the plug on Vive just yet and would have waited for the market to get bigger and possibly wait for a price drop. That is my only grudge with FD as it stands.. Now on the other hand I love my Vive in every other game I've played in it and I don't regret the purchase. Their Room Scale is amazing experience and worth every Euro I've paid for it.... Just ED is on the low end for quality of experience at the moment and the scaling issues alone are enough to not use the Support Vive sticker in my opinion as this is the only game where I felt like I'm having a body of a 12 year and Sparkle fest which causes me head aches.....

Has anyone directly messaged Zac? His workload may interfere with his ability to track this thread (albeit as the original poster there is the responsibility to).

If there was a means of sharing the thread between two forums, that would be ideal.

My thinking was just that officially the Vive is supported and it has clear rendering issues. In the support forum, it would have visibility of the support team (for whatever that accounts for).

It was just a thought.

Am I going mad or has someone deleted my shout out to ZAAAAAAAAAAAAC earlier in thread, did I break a rule ?

Seems an odd thing to do ?[blah]

I'm only 25 mins from Cambridge. I could always nip over there and obstruct their exit with my car until we get a response. Is that going a bit far? :D

Doing my weekly check to see if FD has even responded about working on this issue. Looks like another let down. Silence doesn't mean they're so busy working on it they can't reply. To me it means they have worked so little on it they don't have anything to say at all.

I used to believe that companies don't always need to communicate that they're not sitting on their asses doing nothing all day. But in the case of Frontier I really do want updates on the situation, people dropped a small fortune for VR, the hardware and the game and all we're getting in return is complete and total silence. With every day passing I get more and more the feeling that they're just gonna let the issue die out, hope people eventually stop reporting it and forget it and pretend it never happened.

Last time Zac posted on this issue it was a Sunday so perhaps we will get an update out of hours ;)

Could just be that this thread isn't getting checked very often by FD ?
Mod's yes ;)

You can just downgrade your drivers to 365.19. I can confirm that the newest drivers 368.39 are still causing the shimmers in the left and right sides. At least on my system, so I reverted back to the last well working drivers 365.19. Hope that helps
What the f--- is going on with NVIDIA and Frontier. Get your f------ s--- together you muppets.

Ya, come on Frontier! When is the fix for us Vive players?!

I found that sometimes its the lighting from stars that make the font text fuzzy. I turned down the UI intensity and its helped a bit, also it seems if you are not looking straight on at the HUD element it can blur as well. The middle distance seems just about right its the close up and far HUD elements that seem to blur for me.
