Well with no news on this I'm going back to my monitor and Track IR or not play until fixed
I'm having a hard enough time with motion sickness never mind trying to focus on a kaleidoscope of shimmering text etc.
I've actually stopped playing ED until they can sort this out![]()
Just another one to chime in with difficulties, got my Vive on Thursday and yes I'm running a 970 not a {9|10}80 and yes I'm running 965.10 but illegible menu text and also either 'resolution' issues or aliasing issues make discovery for me on the Vive a non-starter:- put another way I don't think I'd have found California Barnacles if I'd been in VR. At the moment it's a huge shame as I adore the cockpit of my python in VR so another vote for fixes coming thick and fast...
Had mine for a while now and I've found that the text in ED is very sensitive to correct fitting of the headset. Anyway, I can read it without any problems now I've got used to it. Shame about pixelated mess that passes for station exteriors, but hopefully they'll come up with some sort of fix.
An i7 5820 o/c to 3900 + a 970 o/c about 5% with the latest Nvidia drivers gives me 60fps in station, which will do until I can throw a 1080 at it. I don't get VR sickness (someone mentioned this further up the thread) with ED; only had it once and that was playing Toy Plane Heroes.
Over multiple threads the devs have acknowledged the issues and said they are working on it. You do understand the Rift and Vive are from different companies with different drivers, different hardware configs, different code... Your impatience is not one of their motivating factors. When they have a fix, they'll release it. Those whining, making up untrue facts in this thread to support specious arguments and issuing hollow threats will not speed them up in the slightest.FD always said that they are in the frontier of VR gaming with Elite, guess what FD, every review, every video, every editorial of the Vive talks about how incredible are the experiences and games in the Vive WITH THE EXEPCION OF ELITE DANGEROUS, you need to fix this game in the Vive, you are getting bad press everywhere. And I get it, its a complex game in VR, but for the solo reason that it runs good in the cv1 makes it unacceptable. You should know that more people is buying Vives, its the better VR headset right now, more and more people is canceling oculus orders to get Vives with all the fuzz and hate with oculus becoming the new Apple and hurting the PC ecosystem, its all over reddit and the internet, every show and every developer are using the Vive to do showcases, but you can't. Fix it please, or at least gives us some hope.

Quoting reddit (the largest assembled group of anonymous, self-entitled, impatient babies) as gospel is no better then claiming Wikipedia as a reliable source. If you truly have no faith in Frontier over this, then go buy a Rift and be done with it.
