Why would anyone travel to Hutton Orbital?

Because it's there!

To prove it can be done in a Sidewinder!

To beat the best time from the main star!

To join the Trucker's monthly mug meet!

To drink the best gin!

But most importantly, For the Mug!

I have, I hope, started a new tradition, from Hutton orbital to Beagle point and back to Hutton Orbital with no docking anywhere else. At least I hope it's going to be a tradition, I mean it doesn't matter how old they are, there had to be a first time for every old tradition right? :D

Oh yes, but you have to use the free Conda with its E rated FSD or it doesn't count!

Stellar idea, count me in. Now I gotta go back there for the Annie, damn.

Muahaha, made my day!
It a spiritual thing with Hutton.
You don't get to know someone if you haven't walked a mile in his moccasins- and you never really played ED, if you haven't been to Hutton.

Take it like a poodle....;-)

Yeah well wait till you don’t read the description properly and actually fly there in an anaconda and can’t land, I know a player who did that.

It's worth travelling to Hutton in something like a Corvette and just hanging-around to freak people out when they show up. :p

Hutton is well worth the 90 minute trip. What people forgot to say, other than the free anaconda, is that It is the testing station for space legs and walking around.

The Faulcon DeLacy show room and MegaGin museum are worth a visit just for the custom flight suits and decals you receive alone. There is Wonder's Pilots emporium Spa, Hutton Widows Net support group's office, the Thargoid and Fer-de-Lance Bar, a local branch of McThargoids and lets not forget the Make-shift MODs hospital. There was a night club, but i think that was closed down, its far too close to Cubical 3. The proximity was setting the fire alarms off so it had to be moved. I think it is being moved to the spare landing. There is a radio office there too but usually Cecil wont let you in unless you can drink more Gin than is locally recommended.

By far the best thing you can get from Hutton is a Mug, so what you need to do, is dock, doesn't matter which bay, Head to the Thargoid and Fer-de-lance, ask Dorris at the bar about frameshift drives, she will tell you to speak to a guy around back. He gives you a bit of a fetch quest, he wants scrap, about 800 T of it but its worth it in the end because you get your very own hutton mug for the cockpit of your ship. Only issue is that most ships don't come with cup holders so... it will probably get smashed and float around in pieces within the first 20 seconds of flight. Still worth it for the screenshots.

I don't have MODs honest Leal!

Funny, I always thought that the Thargoid and Fer-de-Lance Bar was in the Barnard's Star system (or possibly Bernard's Star, which isn't on the Galaxy map).

When I went to Hutton, I was in an Anaconda and they stole it from me, in order to give it to some over-enthusiastic noob. I had to fly back in just my vest and pants.

Never forget that every free Anaconda is a stolen Anaconda, nicked from some poor stooge. DON'T ACCEPT YOUR FREE ANACONDA.

This thread would be a lot funnier if no numpty had given the game away. Some things really are better learned the hard way.

When I went there, I didn't even know about rares, so I never got The Mug.

Did I rant? No.

Will I go back? Hell yes.

When did people ever fell for it?

I never fell for any of the forum tales... But I did fall for the mission from Sol that looked really lucrative. :) The really annoying thing is that at the time, the mission only gave you two hours, and I didn't realise it was a 90 minute journey. So, as I was doing lots of missions, I completed a few others first, then headed out. I realised half-way to Hutton that I wouldn't even make it there in time (after the shock of realising how far it was).

I still went. I then went again just to show it that I could... :D
