I Died to an NPC :(

So do the Adjusters have any bounty on their heads?

I could live with a Deadly Python lurking behind every star, defection would be quite profitable :)

They are worth 0 cr. You get 200 if they shoot first.
They aren't always pythons, I've killed plenty of cobras, diamondback scouts and explorers, asps, vipers and couriers.
The Vultures and Pythons are too hard for me in the type 9.

There are Clippers and Anacondas too, but none of them have interdicted me when I've been in the type 9, luckily.

From my reading of the OP it seems that he was trying to escape from the Python after being interdicted. If Type9s can't ever escape from such an encounter then who'll want to trade in one alone? (sadly we don't have the NPC Wingmen discussed in the DDF)

Yes I interdicted and destroyed in my t9 this morning by a npc not a happy bunny..

So how much did that death set you back?

Let this be an example why those cretins who claim trading has no risk are full of horse manure.

Getting stopped in the T9 and fighting the NPC, was it tougher than doing it in a Vulture or Python with 3 boosters and 5 shield cell banks? I'd imagine quite a bit tougher.

Thats why I asked if he had the time to engage High Energy FSD... He was only mass locked for Low Energy so if he was able to tank the Python for the duration of the charge he would've gotten away

Also the getaway thread was before the AI revamp...

Yeah sorry - was a case of reading your reply and not taking it all in :)

I'm ashamed to admit it. Might be time to uninstall.

He seems to be spawn camping me now. Just got interdicted by the same Deadly Python, barely escaped the second time.

I just bought a type 9, I wont lie, I'm not impressed with its combat capabilities.

You must pay in cargo, or I'll magically wing up with him and hunt ye down ;)

I interidicted a wing last night, they were all wanted NPC's. A T7 and two Cobra's. Normally its a piece of cake, take down the cobbies and then the T7. Normally only one is attacking at once. Except last night they didnt, they all came at me guns blazing, took out the two Cobbies but had to Sir Robin as the T7 had destroyed my shields and hull was at 89%.

No shame in it. It was great fun, and far better than the usual duck shoot.

Is it normal to flee at 90%? I usually stick around until 25% or my canopy is blasted open.

Fleeing at 90% could be habit leftover from when 1% of hull repairs cost 300,000cr.

I always flee when the shields come down, in case the repair costs get accidentally reverted to insane. Happens frequently after each major update.

I'm sorry... I shouldn't grin at this... :D (laughs wickedly as she resumes her work on the new, much better tactics) I just know someone's gonna tell me to tone this down one day...

TONE THE EASY END DOWN. Stop pushing the case for high end until proper scaling and player consent is in place.

Making it hard is one thing, but even suggesting that you laugh at players having difficulties with being interdicted and destroyed by Deadly AIs is the single most disrespectful thing anyone at Frontier has ever posted. I had tremendous respect and trust for you and Frontier being able to manage the difficulty up to this point, but if that's a genuine statement then you've just lost it all. Being an official representative of Frontier and posting that you're amused at people dying really paints you and Frontier in a bad light. Playful joke or not.

You want to make Elite the hardest game ever *AT THE TOP END*? Go right ahead. But until you fix the difficulty across the whole scale you'll end up steamrollering the silent majority of 'average' players out and kill the broader game, turning it into a tiny minority fragfest. That would be a disaster, so I hope there's people at Frontier ready to muzzle the obsessive pursuit of difficulty before it cripples new player experiences.

You should reply it elite:Dangerous not Elite: I can safely fly around in a type 9 around without any kind of danger.

I'm looking forward to facing down your newly upgraded minions when they are release in the next update.

Please keep up the good work Sarah.

Your work with the AI has been the sole excuse for me to keep on playing. The rest of the game is so lacking. But the fights have now become fun and dangerous.
Thank you

Cheers Cmdr's

Thanks for the constant tweaks and upgrades to the AI! Love how they're evolving and can't wait to see what they're gonna be up to next.

You can't rest until the day you make then indistinguishable from human players. The good, bad, weak, hard, psychos and all. Then we can get rid of the solid triangles and every time you leave a station would be potentially very dangerous.

Any chance they get some better chatter? "I'm gonna boil you up!" is getting a bit old... :D

Maybe the super hard Elite AI says, "I'm gonna boil you up! Really, this time for real..."

Oh god...here we go.... next thing Sarah will be saying is "Tears..... the fountain of youth.... give me your TEARS!" :D

Yes the AI is WAYYY improved. Just after PP released I got interdicted by a Fed Dropship (Deadly) in my ASP. Usually I tear these guys apart.

So I submit to the interdiction..... First volley of particle accelerators Rips my shields down... wow. Second volley takes me to 79% hull. More wow. At this point we had flown past eachother...he also had his shields down and at 85% hull.

Drop ship gets on my tail and WHAM.... Canopy Breached, Power Plant Critical....eject now eject now..... WHAT?!.... Im dead with 77% hull and a powerplant breach.

Im A LOT more cautious with anything Competent and above now......

Good work Sarah Jane! I fear your AI updates!

Saw the title and assumed someone would have done it...apparently not so here it goes:

I like the more challenging AI. It makes scanning a wanted ship in a wing of 3 and attacking without checking what the other 2 ships are that much more exhilarating.

aye, there is lots of good stuff in the (whispers quietly behind his hand) DDA ;)

as for EVE... outside of a free dabble i have never played it. I am not saying it is not a great game, but it just was not my bag.

Don't say it Herik; just don't say it!...

I'M MAKING THE TOP END MORE CHALLENGING WHILE MAKING THE LOWER RANKS EASIER. The last update fixed a load of AI bugs that seriously impacted difficulty. Now I have a baseline, I can make all the balancing tweaks I need to do. On my build I've already made lower ranks less accurate. By the time I'm done, there will be a nice wide range of AI abilities, something for everyone.
