I have found Jaques Station!

I was in a system just the other day and I heard clicking and crackling, that sounded almost insect like. I actually thought there was a problem with my sound card so to check I dropped out of SC and it immediately stopped. Regretted doing that immediately :/ Couldn't get it back

Ditto....I noticed the same sound effects & also thought that my sound card was on the blink. It went when I jumped to another system & I haven't heard it since.

But as Iv only been keeping a small amount of interest in Jaques, I wouldn't be investigating stuff like that.

Why does this smell so fishy... I have scanned that nebula already. didnt find anything of noticeable interest, i daily scan sectors in elite, and i look for stations, lifeforms, population.. however i do not know of a way to advance scan sectors without visiting them.. so please tell me cly who has never posted on forums before how did you find this system, according to the reddit you scanned the entire galaxy and then set off? or am i missing something here? Or is it just like the barnacles a "random" player found them.. nudge nudge wink wink. Its real pity but i have to congratulate the finder. some of us made this our daily job in elite. So yeah this wreaks of tipoff. Shame really i was hoping he was held captive by thargoids.. guess not, guess were going be waiting years to find something worthwhile reporting in this game.

He was checking this part of map, and on the map this star system was described as populated. And he went to check it out.

So how did you find the station?

Assuming he switched the galaxy map to filter by economy and just looked around a few random spots.

Done that myself on a few occasions to see what I can find.

It's an awesome find, I am curious if Frontier indented it to be found this early, what we need in this thread is Mr Brookes!

Galactic News: Jaques Station Found!29 JUN 3302
Two weeks ago it was reported that Jaques Station, the legendary travelling starport, had survived its attempt to jump from Gliese 1269 to Beagle Point.

Unfortunately, however, the starport's location could not be verified due to problems with its communication systems. Fragmentary messages, picked up by a number of outposts, gave hints as to what had befallen the station, but the incomplete nature of the messages left recipients with no clear idea of where it might be.

But a recent report indicates that, despite all odds, the starport has been found. An independent pilot by the name of Commander Cly happened upon the station while exploring the Eol Prou AA-A H89 Nebula. The pilot has confirmed that Jaques is in the Eol Prou RS-T d3-94 system. Commander Cly also reported that the starport is still suffering from technical issues, presumably due to Unknown-Artefact related interference.

It is hoped that Jaques will make a statement soon.

It is actually outside the nebula by about 30-50ly so you may have missed it if zoomed in

They may have had that article ready to go, with only the founder's name to fill in. I think Frontier meant it to be found eventually. It is by a nebula, it's not unknown permit locked, and it shows on the system map.

The fact that the only two things it has are the market and mission board does scream community goal. Hope it will be a very long CG, should be considering the distance.
Disappointed it has no outfitting and UC. Not surprised, just disappointed.

This may also be leading to passenger missions.

...

If you think about it, it's hard to explain with in-game logic how this information was available in the map. I don't expect Frontier to try to explain this gameplay glitch, though.

Just realized, the lack of Universal Cartographics means OP couldn't get his name on the planet and system. This seems wrong. The OP's proven to be the discoverer, his name is even in the article, it should go there no matter who sells the data first.

unless his returned to the cluster and handed in already

Agreed - altough this only seems marginally more unrealistic than the weird fact that we've being able to look up the existance and even star-types of virtually any system in the galaxy. Consequently, it seems safe to assume that also in this case we'll not find out where the Galmap got the Jaques info.
