I have managed to get the Dukes of Mikunn to start a takeover of a neighboring system

I'd already edited and typed up your story to fit in with the names and places in the Mikunn verse as it exists in game. I hope you will forgive me if I leave the second part out.

This is what I got.

The Dukes of Mikunn are brothers and were originally imperial citizens. Their father, Spassky Darvil, was of very minor nobility, the house of Darvil, so minor that they didn't even have a place in court or Senate. They did however own a failing mining operation and owed obstenuous debts to many lords and ladies. It didn't take long before one of those lords, a senator Fealix, attempted to forcibly seize all their assets, including their livelihood of the mining station. It was at that moment that the Darvils decided to run from the Empire and all the debts. Their father was killed while trying to keep Fealix's men off one of their mining stations. Disastrous this may have been, He gave his sons time to use the stations FSD and jump away with a handful of slaves and loyal employees, fleeing to one of their extraction sites on the very edge of civilized space within the Mikunn system. To the brothers this system looked perfect, and since it was so far away and near the federation there was little chance of Lord Fealix finding them. So they declared themselves dukes of their mining station, renamed it Spassky’s inheritance after their father and began their new lives.

Now two brothers quickly turned things around in Mikunn through illicit slave trade from the federation. Publicly they condemned the Federation slaves to appease their neighbors, but the Imperial slaves working in their mines were actually cheaper black market ones from the federation.

Being on the rim worlds and looking outward into uncolonized space and the riches it held only fueled their greed. But before they could expand they would need the shipyards of HR 7327…….

Im just going to assume they don't count the slaves as citizens.

I'm now going to begin work on a "Incoming Transmission" segment to commanders. A call from the Dukes for Merc work. After that I will make a thread or a sub-reddit for us to co-ordinate.... or both. A local bar for the mercs to meet up of sorts. Ill be acting in character ;)

Lol, that's perfect. I'm just tired an was having fun with cannibalism an slaves. Definitely doesn't need to be mentioned in their lore, outsiders shouldn't know all their dark secrets ;)

Will buzz over to this system later on, what do you need me to do? :)

See to it that those Dynamic Commodity goons acquire some unfortunate work related injuries, or deliver messages from Mikunn to our associates in HR 7327.

Also I have added a transmission to commanders under back ground ;). Have at it folks.

Next on my list is the a place where we can organize.

Incoming Transmission:…..

Good evening commander,

My name is Lucifer Wolfgang and I am speaking to you on behalf of the Dukes of Mikunn. The Dukes are looking for some capable mercenaries, like yourself, to help extend their influence beyond the borders of their sector. Starting with the system known as HR 7327. They have already built up a significant sphere of influence in that sector through a series of investments and acquisitions. Consider it our foothold.

The Dukes want your help “leveraging” these acquisitions against the local leaders of HR 7327. As they are responsible members of their community, they would feel it very unfortunate if any work related “accidents” were to befall any members of those organizations trying to resist any further acquisitions they intend to make. For now their end goal are the shipyards of HR 7327.

If cash is your thing come to Mikunn for some Merc work. I don’t call the shots, but I will be your liason between you and the Dukes, serving only to coordinate.
Welcome the the Mercs of Mikunn commander. There are some serious credits to be made.

Update 1:

So it appears doing missions at Mikunn now directly effects 1 faction within the neighboring starsystem. For some missions I complete, like donating food to Mikunn, the Dukes gain power in that other system from one faction only. I would assume they are gaining influence in that factions star port in order to take it over.

Also oddly, the system authority have upgraded their previous Eagles to Vipers. Literally every single one I've seen in a while has been in a Viper now.

Loved the background story :)
Ive been doing some reading on other attempts. I am willing to place a bet that the more populous systems and those in places deep in Fed or Empire territory are more difficult to flip due to the amount of behind the scenes and player trading that occurs. That will likely keep influence sustained by other means. Starting with such a small system was a great idea.

That's great to hear.
Can you give a little hint how the infulence increasement happened over those days?
You increased from what percentage to th 100%?
Any numbers like how many missions you had to complete for say +1%?
~
I ask because so far I've never managed to increase the influence of any system faction for even 1%.
I guess that the population size obvious matters.

Thanks! Credit goes to Jameson Jones for starting that story off. You are welcome to join in the fun!

Can you do missions for the Duke's at the expansion system's primary Station? Someone mentioned deliveries into the Station as being bad, but what about exporting goods? Obviously, strictly Duke faction missions. I wonder at what point the primary station would switch Faction ownership. If at all.

I don't remember where it started. I originally intended to work on Sukua and was just doing rings around that area, traveling in between the four systems. Then I noticed them grab 100%. It must have been close to 100% already. Then I thought to hell with it and started concentrating on Mikunn. When I saw "expansion critical" many missions later while taking off from the landing pad I took a screenshot. Thats when I got really excited and started keeping track.

Things also started rolling once I hit "Allied" status. It may have just been a coincidence though. My buddy also was pulling some weight so its hard to track how much effort went in. The main thing to take from this is that 2 commanders managed to push things over the brink.

The whole point of this is to get more people to finish the job. The next system has 32 million people. Waaay more than 1200, so I expect this to be difficult.

Delivery to other stations are bad, but I dont think it matters if its on the orders of the Dukes. Help Mikunn out any way you want. Any mission from the Dukes of Mikunn should be good.

The Dukes will even offer you missions in the other system now. Take those if it says its from the Dukes.

Great work by all involved here. I especially love the extra lore.

Officially, it might not make Galnet in the game itself, but I'll put together a news item and make sure it is featured on the unofficial YouTube channel I put together.

http://youtu.be/Djj1TDX36vQ (sorry, can't figure out how to link to the channel on my mobile so that's a video link)

If you can keep the first post updated with the latest, I'll make sure it gets reported. :)

I'm going to finish my rare trade route and head to Mikunn in a Cobra, CMDR Sefrys is the name, feel free to add me in game!
Since I am more of a combating person, should I hunt down opposing traders/authorities?

Yes. It would probably benefit the Dukes if Dynamic Commodity affiliated members were to experience work related accidents. There are some pristine rings in that system. Leave the guys with bounties. Repair at the one station that does not belong to Dynamic Commodity.

Just wanted to say hi and get us pumped up for some shenanigans here, I'll be running the trade route missions for some peaceful takeovers here, but I'm down for the dogfighting if things go south!
