I like the game.

It's strange to me how most of these "I like the game" threads are prefaced with "so much negativity!" as if we need these threads to achieve some sort of feelings balance.

So what the OP is really trying to do is minimize the criticism of the game by demonstrating they and others like it. But what this argument fails to consider is that a lot of the criticism comes from people who do like the game, they might just have doubts about certain features or the direction things are going. It's possible to hold two thoughts at once; you can enjoy the game but not some of its parts.

Sign me up for a +1

I like and enjoy this game and it is for that exact reason why I criticise the stuff that makes it less enjoyable and fun.

I agree with that, but I think OP's point is that there is a difference between a criticism and plain forum negativity.
That is a bit of an issue, though I have to admit that it isn't anywhere near the salt other game forums experience.

Love the game, just taking a break to love ME: Andromeda at present.

Another example where several minor issues could potentially overshadow otherwise truly astounding game.
I'm almost 100 hours in (without touching a multiplayer, yet) and loving it to bits!

I agree!!! One of the best games I ever played!!! Closing to 1300 hr after 2 years myself (unfortunately not enough time to play it). I am playing it together with my wife and she loves it too. I bought it for both of us. Also I am a little tired about all of the complaining. It's not perfect but there is no such thing as a perfect game. Every game has flaws but very few games give me the thrill that elite does (I can see how space is and fly a spacecraft and that's absolutely incredibile). I am not a game developer or software developer but as a mechanical engineer which does creative work I understand why some things are as they are and why it is hard to make them different. In the past two years there were many moments when I was confused about all the complaining. I have all the trust that FD will do the maximum they are able to with this game for the sole reason that its impressive and is also a challenge. I think people should relax and just play it. Everybody is looking for the best ship, make more money and be the best (this produces the word grind and the thinking that there is no content). This game is much more then that. It gives you the opportunity to be something else then in real life and experience something that most of us will probably never experience. Sorry if my english is not perfect (not my native language)! I usually just read posts in the forums but this time I also wanted to say what I think. Thank you FD for this game and for the experience that you gave me! Thank you for all the hard work and regardless of anything else you are really doing a great job!

Looks like you may have underestimated the number of people who like this game. There are a lot of us. We just tend to be quieter than those who have a gripe with it.

It isn't perfect, but it is lovely and I wouldn't swap it for any other. Bit like the wife really ;)

It was great! It was massive and it could have BIG guns! Great!
If I am subsequently disproved I reserve the right to claim it's long time since I last had it and my memory might be ever so slightly, um, imprecise

I too like this game. Fulfilling all of our wishes is impossible, since they are often diametrically opposed. Just fulfilling mine would make it perfect ... for me and the three others that would still play it.

The only minor issue I've noticed is the occasional bout of paralysis - you either stand there, or can just barely move. A quick tap of the jump jets fixes it every time though.

I love this game. It has its problems, yes, but I take it for what it is and have fun. I have 4 CMDRs in the game, and if I ever get a new console (PS4) I will most likely get Elite: Dangerous for that one as well. Call me crazy! :)

Don't worry OP, most game forums are the same. There is always a vocal minority winging about stuff. Meanwhile a quite majority get on with playing and enjoying it.

The good news is, FDEV's success is not based on forum posts.

I like the game.

how dare you ?

this is blasfemy !!

shame shame shame

Elite is a fantastic game! It has some flaws, some that are being worked at more slowly than I would like, but I still love her warts and all. The dev team puts so much love into what they do, and it really shows. I couldn't be more appreciative. Like seriously, thanks guys. You've made the best game I've every played.

Criticism ≠ Negativity

So, since you're presuming what I'm really saying, I guess you get a reply:

I've been trying not to go too deep into what I like and don't like because we have 094327-07234578-98234502345-1234`tr123 threads about what this game REALLY needs to be perfect. I just wanted a light thread telling the Devs that I like the game. It's nice that quite a few people have piled on. I'd really rather not list out the problems.

What I will say is that I did indeed post this because I think there should be some balance with the negativity. There are *always* posts on this forum with feedback and recommendations. These are *usually* on a positive slant with only a few negative comments. Recently with the purchasable content and then the multi-crew payouts there have been a bunch of really vicious posts about how horrible FD are and how they can't drive their own game. This is ridiculous. FD have been at the wheel the whole time and they've gotten us to where we are. The game isn't perfect but I like it. I've played it for more hours than any other game I've ever owned. Much like I might post on my friend's wall if they're having a bad day at work, I felt the need to post here.

By all means, post feedback, constructive criticism, and design ideas (preferably in a thread that already exists for such a topic).

Really great post, very eloquent. English not your natve language? Dude, you put many of us to shame! :)

Oh but we absolutely do. Not for balances sake but because the game geuninely is great but people generally find it far easier to express a specific complaint about something they don't like than a general compliment about all the stuff they do like. I love these threads. Forum discontent can be contagious, like a virus. These threads are an instant antidote, well, they are for me.
