And also, fair warning to FDev, if they've created any designs which incorporate a US flag and they're displayed like that, they're going to get a LOT of complaints from yanks.
Yes.
They shouldn't. If you see that, it's cos somebody's got it on the wrong arm.
Not necessarily...
I dunno. On US spacesuits and military uniforms they have reverse Old Glories along with the normal one.
Some military uniforms, yes.
Here's why, if you're interested:
When displayed on a right shoulder, as on the expeditionary (warzone) uniforms of US servicemembers, the flag image is reversed because the blue field of 50 stars, or "union" of the flag must always be considered in front of the stripes, which represent the 13 original colonies. The union leads the way, always, as if the flag were flown from a staff. So right uniform sleeves will feature an "incorrectly" displayed flag to keep the union at the soldier's front.
In all other cases, because English speakers read left to right, and this configuration generally carries over to other visual media, the correct display of an American flag by law and tradition is union on the left, stripes on the right. Hung vertically, the union still should be displayed on the left. Astronaut spacesuits are not expeditionary military uniforms, and feature correctly oriented flags on the left sleeve only.
So yes, there will be some yelling if it's improperly reversed. I'm already a little irked that my Viper Mk III paint is stripes at the bow.
I only fly it backwards as compensation.
