I’d like more commanders in the Open

"Feed their habit?" Makes it sound like we're addicts.

Yup, yup habit, yup, yup, yup habit, bunny, habit, habit

Noted, unsurprisingly.

They could choose to leave Deciat. Problem solved.

When gankers only care about other players when they're looking for targets, why is it up to other players to suggest solutions?
I don't think gankers are going to leave. They're happy there and enjoying their game apparently. If it's working for them, why would they leave?

This being the case, it is up to the other players to suggest a solution because unless they're happy being blown up, they're the ones who are in the situation that isn't to their liking.

This is so cringey I almost can't reply.

Alright Robert, I'll send you invites to all the ganker discords and you can go ask them all to leave Deciat yourself. And make sure to tell them you're a forum moderator, they'll definitely listen to you knowing that.

My solution is to go in solo or a private mode, and the gankers can stay wherever they like.

I didn't expect for a moment it would be an acceptable solution. ;)

Of course they aren't - why move away from a stream of easy targets that don't require them to exhibit any skill in dispatching?

But this game isn't just for casuals, it's for everyone including pvpers.
Of course PvP is possible - we can shoot at anything we instance with, after all - however it is completely optional, as playing among other players is optional.

No game feature (apart from CQC) requires the player to engage in PvP to participate in it - by design. Players have been trying to get Frontier to PvP-gate features for years - to no avail. While we are awaiting the results of Sandro's Powerplay Flash Topic of May'18 (which included as one of the potential changes to make it Open only) we have also been reminded that the BGS is for all players on all platforms and in all game modes.

I have previously suggested a trio of permit locked regions of space (one per platform) - only accessible by players in Open - with all extant game features in place and only able to be affected by players in Open. The suggestion was not met with much of a positive response.

The long term solution is already in place: Migration to PG will continue until there won’t be anyone for gankers to gank, so, gankers going to move on to Star Citizen or some such. Explorers, traders and miners are going to stay in their PG and keep playing the game with joy. So yeah, the ganking self destruct bomb is ticking.

After six years, I wonder what it's waiting for?

Plenty of players will still flock to Deciat in open on their way to their first upgrades in engineering, simply because they don't visit the forum, or watch 'Content' from Social Media, or simply don't think they will be noticed.

We who visit the forum may already know of the issues there, or have taken notice and visited Elvira Martuuk instead, but the Deciat crew won't be starved of content in the forseeable future I should think.
