Hello. I bought this device. Everything is great. I haven't figured out some of the settings yet. Can I ask you to make a map of the landing sites in the next version? As in the Market Connector.

Hi

I came across your software today whilst exploring ways to 'augment' my VR experience when playing Elite. I have made a couple of changes to configuration files (Joystick stuff (see below re this) and replaced panel serial numbers by 'window'). When I launch the tool, it gets stuck on 'Getting sensor data from HWInfo'. I do not use HWInfo and the Github text says this is optional... how do I make it optional? Also, I use Hotas / Throttle combination with the hat switch configured for in game use. I happen to have an old Belkin N52te knocking around... could I use that to control your app (and if so, do I simply need the VID/HID and PID Numbers plus D switch button info plugged into the joystick config file)?

Cheers John

can you upload the config files that you modified from stock here?

I'll look into the HWINFO issue tonight

if you can see your device in the application log file (if the software doesn't hang of course)
and you have a spare 4 way hat switch with push, then you should be able set it up (see github for instructions)

Joystick File: Thrustmaster Hotas One

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<joystickSettings>
<add key="PID" value="B68D" />
<add key="VID" value="044F" />
<add key="UpButton" value="HAT -0" />
<add key="DownButton" value="HAT -18000" />
<add key="LeftButton" value="HAT -27000" />
<add key="RightButton" value="HAT -9000" />
<add key="PushButton" value="15" />
<add key="FipSerialNumber" value="window" />
<add key="WindowWidth" value="400" />
<add key="WindowHeight" value="500" />
</joystickSettings>

Panel Settings Config

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<panelSettings>
<add key="AutoActivateTarget" value="window" />
<add key="AutoActivateNavigation" value="window" />
</panelSettings>

I could use HWInfo except when I have tried, it doesn't give me 'Framerate' which is what I would be most interested in (especially now with Odyssey)

Cheers
John

The framerate actually comes from afterburner / rivatuner statistics server which then transfers it to HWINFO

I'm using the free HWINFO version, by the way.

The values should be numbers.

Maybe that is why it's crashing, not because of HWINFO ?

Can you confirm that it stops crashing when you change the values to numbers ?

<add key="UpButton" value="HAT -0" />
<add key="DownButton" value="HAT -18000" />
<add key="LeftButton" value="HAT -27000" />
<add key="RightButton" value="HAT -9000" />

These values tell me that it's probably an 8-way hat switch, which is not supported.

I don't think that I did anything special?

RTSS must be running (and collecting frame rate data) BEFORE starting HWINFO

I'm not sure if the frame rate must be set up to be displayed on the RTSS OSD. it is on mine (see picture below)

your game must also be running

Then the data shows up for me in HWINFO :
I sometimes see 0 FPS when the focus is not on the game.
I don't see anything when the game is not running.

@johnbury

I can confirm that you see this when the joystick buttons aren't numbers.
So, as I wrote above, your problem is not hwinfo related
(that's just the last thing it did, before it got to the joystick stuff):

the log file is empty

@EKim
I found this:
Make sure FPS counter is turned on in MSI Afterburner (OSD tab in settings) or standalone RTSS (check 'show own statistics') depending on which one you're using.

I'm showing FPS counter on OSD in Afterburner and 'show own statistics' is off for me (see screenshot above)

Hi mhwing

Yes I can confirm replacing the text with numbers allowed the app to load. I need now to see If I can find the correct values for the N52te to drive it now!

I will let you know how I get on!

on the HWinfo thing, I persevered and have now managed to get info from Afterburner to show up under the RTSS tab in HWInfo!

Thanks for the help and pointers

John

Hi mhwing

Thanks for the link. I used this earlier when messing with the Thrustmaster. Unfortunately, I noticed that the N52te doesn't show up as a game controller/joystick but as a combination mouse/keyboard. I guess that precludes your software from finding it even with the VID/PID (gleaned from Device Manager)... I may have to tinker with some virtual joystick tools... have you ever looked at vJoy?

Cheers

John
