Is anyone else finding themselves playing the game much less since Arx came in?

Why do you think your opinion matters to any one, especially FDev, when you quit playing?
I agree. I think it's a bit odd to stop playing a game then endlessly writing about why they did it in the game's forum. Just quitting and moving onto another game would be normal behaviour imo. If they are genuinely having difficulty moving on they should seek professional help.

Just that really. For some reason I just have hardly run the game at all since these Arx things appeared. I don't really know why but I suspect it might be a reaction to the game sort of putting a value on what you have been doing. I am not interested in earning Arx (I can buy some if I want anything) so am not looking at maximising the awarding of them. However in over four-and-a-half years I have never gone more than a few days without playing and yet in the last two weeks I have hardly run the game at all.

Anyway, this isn't a complaint or a rant or a whine - just interested to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Arx do not influence my play time, but they halted my store spending completely.
I have not even looked at the current sale, which is a first for me.

sort of only played the Interstellar Initiatives lately and some CQC inbetween ... since the latest "blight" Initiative wasn't appealing much to me - and some real world stuff get's in the way a lot - my Elite playtime suffers. Also other games coming across my way catching more of my attention then good old elite. But that's only fair after ... how many years of Elite? Four, or five already??

Nope

Love it when some saddo gets offended cos they said bad words bout his game. And by bad i mean someone just said why they dont - recently- play it no more
Sad
Being a serial forum moaner is just so sad and negative imo. Coming onto the forum and moaning about a game the serial forum moaner doesn't even play anymore is strange and obsessive behaviour imo. Pointing out how weird and sad that behaviour is, that's just an observation.

Their opinions matter a lot more than yours as FDev is losing customers. And that means they're losing (new) money. If FDev doesn't care then that's a much bigger problem for you to consider.

But is FD really losing customers? If someone stops playing, fair enough, I think everyone stops playing at some stage, it is that type of game. Even if someone uninstalls the game is that FD losing a customer if they continue to take an 'active interest' in the game via the forums?

If I was FD I would be more worried about the ones not complaining on the forums incessantly, I would be concerned about the ones that just leave with no fanfair or sympathy seeking.

Not sure losing customers who do nothing but moan about the game is such a big loss! They've already paid for the game, so there's no financial loss for FD, and getting rid of whinging customers is always good for staff morale!

In my business we look after the 99% who are loyal customers. We don't care about the 1% who moan and whinge about everything (and tend to spend spend a lot less than the loyal customers!). There's just no incentive to care about the 1%.... we're just happy when they go away and don't return!

The simple fact is if a company or organisation tries to appease everyone, all 100% of their customer base, then no product or service is every produced. Just look at Star Citizen, it is trying to be everything for everyone and will never be released, will never be finished. The hard reality is that in any business decision, you are going to upset someone, it is up to you to mitigate the hurt or put your big boy pants on and just accept the fact that you can't please everyone all the time.

Who cares if people dont play the game. And servers are shut. Holy Braben promised to release the code at the end of the life cycle, so rest assured we'll be able to play decades later just like it's 1984.
