Jurassic World: Chaos Theory News!

As of today, my mom and I have watched the first half (first 5 episodes ) of Season Three of Jurassic World Chaos Theory. This is a season where conflicted opinions and feelings about their lost friend tense up the group, making them more divided and lost of what is actually going on and what's right or wrong. This is a season where everything turns upside down for the main five Nublar guys.

After Brooklyn leaves the guys behind at Senegal with Bumpy's egg, but without any acknowledgement for their well-being and shocked by how she treated them at the end of the last season, tensions rise between the group about what Brooklyn really is now and what they should do with her situation.

Shortly after the two girls depart, they encounter French Intelligence agent Barry Sembène, Owen's old friend from both in Jurassic World and Dominion. They decide to catch a ride on his cargo plane, which contains an injured female Kentrosaurus where she would be taken to vets in Munich who specialize in such care. On their way, they don't fully trust Barry, and they fear they could get arrested because they think Barry thinks they might be working with Soyona, who he's been tracking for ages. After trying to care for the Kentro with an adrenaline shot after she stops breathing, the then wild dino causes the cargo plane to crash.

Still distrustful of Barry ever believing they are not with the Broker, they set out to Ben's girlfriend's house, which is near where they have landed - the Italian boarder. The others didn't really believe she's real, but she is. Her name is Gia, and they meet up with her at her house where her Italian superstitious but kindhearted grandmother, Nonna, also lives with her, although the latter has a strong fear of dinosaurs in thinking they are here to punish humanity.

Eventually, Bumpy's egg hatches at Gia's house, and her offspring is a darker blue male without his mother's trademark head spike deformation. As a result, they call him "Smoothie", and just like how Bumpy imprinted herself on Ben in Camp Cretaceous, Smoothie imprints himself on Kenji who was also very protective of his egg.

When Nonna finds out when Kenji accidently exposes him to her, Kenji convinces her that Smoothie isn't evil and believes him. When she takes the baby Anky out for a pee, Smoothie escapes through a hole in the backyard gate and becomes loose in the Italian city. There, they find him, as well as an encounter with a Pyroraptor. Earlier, Kenji and Darius encountered it when they were sent out to get breakfast, and were surprised that a feathered dinosaur had been resurrected as apparently none have before, likely from Biosyn. After all, the Raptor Lady, while an employee of Soyona, is actually working for Biosyn. She was also there when the group ecounterst he raptors, but didn't know they were there. Because all she did was use the three Atrociraptors she has to drive it into one of the Biosyn containment trucks. Turns out, contrary to what some thought on social media regarding the trailer footage, the Pyroraptor and Atrociraptors don't get along with each other.

They now know Brooklyn is involved with Biosyn somehow, but also she's at Malta where the Amber Clave from Dominion is. However, as said before, there are divided tensions between the group regarding Brooks. Darius, Ben, and Yaz believe she needs them, but Kenj and Sammy don't and give up, willing to head back to the USA with Smoothie. The resulting conflict has also made Sammy and Yaz break up.

Meanwhile, Brookyn and Soyona continue their "alliance" by doing business with Lewis Dodgson and Biosyn Genetics. Soyona gives Brooks a new prosthetic arm that she tries to adjust too. It is revealed Bioysn has bases all over the world, including right beneath the Amber Clave where the ladies head to. There, Brooks does more investigating where she learns more and more, including a man Soyona has kidnapped named Professor Chuck Desai, someone who is very anti about, Biosyn's doings, despite having previously supported them before.

Desai's kidnapper was the Raptor Lady at the beginning of episode 1 of this season. She can speak, as she whispered inaudibly into his ear, but it's clear now she's a mostly quiet type who prefers to not to do so. But Soyona, as ruthless as she is, learns Biosyn and the handler used her raptors without her authority in Italy, and decides to "retire" both her and the four Atrociraptors, the latter which she plans to sell.

At this exact time, it is revealed by Dodgson that the events happening now are right before Dominion's events, because there he reveals that they need Maise and Beta.

Brooklyn infiltrates the Amber Clave to continue her investigation, where she also learns just how gnarly the Lystrosaurus is, both in strength and aggression. A tactic she used when interrogating someone who's been spying on her in there. The person is a former Brooklyn social media follower from when she was a teen vlogger, now an undercover journalist named Davi, who is also trying to stop Biosyn. I'm sure more will be shown with him, as I believe there was something in the trailer from last month.

From there, our time of watching this season ends with the group now seriously divided. They all don't realize it yet, and now I'm having the mental instinct in wanting to shout out and say she's just "trying to protect YOU, AND herself", while she's trying to stop what she started investigating way before the beginning of this show in the greatest lengths. I know they will eventually find out, I just don't know when. When will she, Brooklyn, save them? Not just from danger, but from their divided situation they're now in? Is there any point in this season, or the next, where she saves and restores their hearts, trust, and relationships?

Tonight, we finally got to see the last five episodes of Season Three. I will say, compared to the last half, this other half was WILD.

With the group now split up and divided, Ben and Gia still come up with a big plan. He, Yaz, and Darius will go after Brooklyn in Malta, while Kenji and Sammy take a flight back to the USA with Smoothie to reunite him with his mom, Bumpy.

While in Malta, Davi tries more to expose Soyona and Biosyn, but is also putting himself in danger in the process. Brooklyn, trying to keep things undercover, makes Davi believe she's sold her soul to Soyona. Meanwhile, the three who decided to follow her, while attempting to infiltrate the black market, eventually stumble upon her. This time, she dearly requests their help, which they are always ready for.

During their mission to stop Soyona, Dominon's events in Malta begin to happen such as the Atrociraptors being brought forward to sell, Soyona doing her hair, and the raid when Barry, Owen and Claire (the latter two who aren't seen nor heard). It reveals what happened to both Barry and Soyona too after their last appearances in Dominion. Brooklyn, while helping out the guys on her own, stumble across the Handler once more, who set up a trap to take out Davi who has been spotted by the enemy and tries to expos her by making a deal to help the latter return her Atrociraptors, but is unsuccessful in doing so.

Chaos ensures on the surface. The Amber Clave's dinosaurs, including the Allosaurus from earlier, breakout, as well as several locust swarms by Biosyn. The dinosaurs reach the surface and begin attacking the civilians. After finding and teaming up with Davi before the incident but after being saved by Brooklyn which makes him trust Brooks again, the three guys split up to rally the dinosaurs into the catacombs to contain them while the others find Barry who was caught in a cage bomb explosion shortly after cornering Soyona in Dominon's events (the last scene they were both ever seen in the movie). Another tie-in is Ghost coming out of an alley soaking wet, because he was dropped into the sea in Dominon's Malta chase sequence.

Soyona attempts to flee from Malta via helicopter from an extraction point in an arena, but not without a final showdown. Betrayed by Soyona's earlier actions in this season after disobeying her, the Handler duels Soyona until her three raptors arrive, and gains Red's trust to control four Atrociraptors now. But Soyona has an unexpected backup plan: A trained Carnotaurus, and it's the same one seen in Dominion's Malta sequence! The Carnotaurus and Atrociraptors engage in battle, resulting in the Carno actually killing Ghost for good, much to the Handler's sadness. She attempts to do what she did to Red with the Carno, actually speaking out her first and only audible word. Because she fails. She is killed and eaten by the Carno, and the remaining Atrociraptors retreat, never to be seen again in this season.

Darius and Yaz arrive in time and Brooklyn ingenuously stall Soyona long enough for Barry, Ben, and Davi to arrive to tranq her Carnotaurus and arrest her where Brooks finally reveal her true intentions to her. All this time, Brooklyn has been playing a long game to successfully bring Soyona into custody. And just as the latter attempts to attack herm Brooks smacks her away with her prosthetic which she disposses of for good, which was also where she cleverly kept a hard drive data backup of evidence from her phone.

Brooklyn is now happy again, and the trio who came for her finally learn the truth from her. Soyona may have been taken down, but Biosyn is still out there. They are the ones responsible for the creation of the trained Atrociraptors and plenty of others of the same species. Now together again, the happily reunited four guys hop onto the automated chopper drone to head for Biosyn.

Soyona Santos is by far the most dangerous adversary the Nublar Six ever faced. She was brilliant ruthless, and she would not hesitate to kill every single one of them. But, in the end, she was no match for Brooklyn's intelligence.

Meanwhile, Kenji and Sammy, along with Smoothie, attempt to catch a plane to the US with Gia driving them. Unfortunately, a twist takes an unexpected turn that makes them stay longer. In the ending of episode 5 of this season, the captured Pyroraptor escapes its containment truck, and they encounter it once more, as well as a seldom rogue locust.

The Pyroraptor heads straight to a skiing resort, where the guys try to draw it away from. While chasing the thing down the snowy hills, it reveals it can not only swim in water as seen in the films, but it can also burry and "swim" beneath the snow as well! They were successful in driving it away and, more importantly, with no casualties. The Pyroraptor, by using a tracker they found on a Biosyn datapad in the raptor's truck, has retreated to an area close to their location: Biosyn Sanctuary.

This confirms the Pyroraptor is a Biosyn creation, as pure feathered dinos have feathers. It is also where they guys realize it came from in the first place. At the same time, however, not only did they miss their flight back home, Bumpy isn't home either. She too has been captured by Biosyn and taken her to the valley. Now, Kenji and Sammy with Smoothie arrive at the very edge of the valley, with the compound in sight.

It feels incredibly good to know Brooklyn is now free of her hardcore undercover business and with Darius, Ben, and Yaz not only finally getting together again, but also learning they were right in saving her and her not being a traitor by heart. It is now only a matter of time for Kenji and Sammy to know as well and, hopefully, have Sammy and Yaz rekindle their romance once the former learns the actual truth of what her girlfriend and the other boys know now.

This season may have ended, but this journey of the Nublar Six is still far from over. A fourth season has been long confirmed by one of the marketing guys at the New York Toyfair from earlier this year when promoting the new Jurassic World toys. More specifically, coming out some time after Jurassic World Rebirth's release.

Showrunner Scott Kreamer was once again interviewed by Swrve recently. There, Kreamer describes what it was like to make Season Three such as, for example, what it was like animating the Pyroraptor. As well as talking more about the overall show in general. He also talks about story elements like exploring Soyona’s fate, Dominion connecting details like how Ghost came out of the alleyway wet, and the characterization of the Raptor Lady (The Handler). The latter especially how and why they decided to make her mostly silent of any speech for the majority off the time, as well as deciding not to explore too much of explaining what she was to let viewers interpret the way they’d like to.
