Jurassic World: Chaos Theory News!

Today, a trailer for the new animated TV show coming to Netflix has been released. Jurassic World Chaos Theory.

In January of 2022, it was hinted that only Camp Cretaceous was the only thing definitively planned for TV. But as early as May of that year, there was a casting audition for a new untitled Dreamworks Animated Jurassic World project, and now this must be it! Meaning, it had to have been planned sometime soon after the interview was published.

It was rumored to be titled "Rule The Earth" because of a trademark people found. But I think what that was meant to be for was that fan community animation campaign of the same name that happened shortly after Dominion released, under the hashtag: #RuletheEarth. You can find these submitted animations on the official Jurassic World YouTube channel.

During the 2023 New York Toy Fair, Jurassic Outpost on X came out and said Mattel there had toys set for a new CC sequel for next year called "Chaos Theory", but I needed to wait until there was any sort of official trailer or teaser so that I can know what they claimed is validated, and it is!

The new Mattel toyline for next year, "Epic Evolution" is said to have toys based on the show as said by Jurassic Outpost themselves. And while it was rumored that the known Allosaurus toy is part of it because of its new model mesh and style, and the fact a leaked images says its part of the "new animated content", it doesn't have the CT styled packaging the others are said to have, and Collect Jurassic said the official description of it is that of Battle at Big Rock instead. So, we shall see as time passes.

This new series is set to be a sequel to Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, taking place sometime after Fallen Kingdom, featuring one of the six teens now grown up: Darius! The others are not known which or if all of them will return as well, but it should be known soon enough next year when it will come out!

Like Camp Cretaceous, Chaos Theory is rated TV-PG, so it’s something that audiences of all ages can enjoy!

Any new dinosaur species that hasn’t appeared in the film continuity is always a welcome for me as I’m categorizing them for something I once alluded to be working on back in 2019 here in the forums. A YouTube video project.

But, a part of me hopes the show has at least one thing from my wishlist I have for what I’m alluding, like something that’s kinda or pretty popular on social media and the internet. None of which include dinos seen in the films or JWE2. For example: a hadrosaur (Saurolophus osboni), nodosaur (Denversaurus), ceratopsian (Kosmoceratops), ichthyosaur (Platypterygius), small or medium plesiosaur (Hydrotherosaurus), medium pterosaur (Pterodaustro), tiny theropod (Bambiraptor), etc. But, anything that isn’t in my list is also welcomed for my project, and I want to be surprised as time goes on before release.

Today, the trailer of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has finally been officially released!

What Jurassic Outpost did was upload and publish the news too early, making it an unintended leak. But now, during the session of new trailer announcements going on between Monday to Sunday, it is now out for the public to see for real and as intended!

As a result the post has been updated to show that video for real now!

I think Sammy is returning in Chaos Theory because in the below theory video, it mentions an upcoming LEGO set that will be released in 2024.

There is a Ben action figure toy that will be coming up too. As well as a Darius figure with an Atrociraptor (Ghost). At least, that’s what JPToys says. Either way, it’s safe to assume Ben will return because I don’t believe they will be making more Camp Cretaceous action figures long after it’s run for toylines like Epic Evolution. Elsewhere, maybe, but not the kind the said line is.

Also, I heard of a Becklespinax that will be in Chaos Theory; isn't that Dinosaur highly dubious?
Becklespinax is an invalid genus name, thought to be synonymous with Altispinax. It still is today, but it doesn't mean it can't ever, ever be used at all. It just depends. People still use it for specific contexts. Besides, it isn't the only invalid dinosaur genus name to be used in those similar ways, and it's certainly going to be officially challenged someday for at least some of them regarding validity and invalidity, just as some have gone through before, believe me. In the case of Becklespinax, I can't say confidentially because some of the information regarding it is not easily accessible.

It's only a rumor that Becklespinax is in it. Swrve claimed someone reached out to him and said, based on what they saw at the 2023 New York Toy Fair, where Jurassic Outpost first got the information and published it immediately after, that these dinosaurs were included in the sub-toyline and set to appear in the show itself: Becklespinax, Pachyrhinosaurus, Atrociraptor, and Suchomimus.

But I'd advise taking that person's word Swrve shared as fact or a high possibility, because nobody knows how accurate that claim is. The Camp Cretaceous sub-toylines for Primal Attack and Dino Escape had species that never appeared in that show. Some of which were species that first in previous toylines or in the main one, meaning if they did appear, they would've had different model meshes to better match their screen appearences. The CC Monolophosaurus figure did just that, and several others before and after it like the BaBR Allosaurus and the JWD Quetzalcoatlus and Dimetrodon. Additionally, the Dominion toyline introduced returning species with brand new meshes, yet they never appeared in the movie itself. I believe they may be doing that for the current Epic Evolution toyline as well, under the assumption the Triceratops figures are like that but not the Allosaurus if it's going to appear in CT. So, anything is possible, but I can guarantee, 100%, that a returning dinosaur figure that didn't previously appear in a show will be remodeled from a meshing perspective to better match their screen appearances.

But I can more positively say Atrociraptor, Ghost (the white one) at the very least, may be in it because of the supposed figure pack claimed by JPToys.

The Dinosaur that Ben is with is a Majungasaurus. Could that also be appearing in Chaos Theory?

it looks like majungasaurus is with ben. Also could be one of the known evil Raptor Squad of atrociraptors like ghost or it could be a host Raptor for the atrociraptors in Dominion.
If the outline of the Majungasaurus is like the model mesh used before, which it seems like, then I’m not sure if that means of what I just shared above, unless they, Mattel, are breaking that perception I have down with how they approach their screen appearing dino toys.

Also, pay close attention that it just says “Big Dinosaur” as appose to “Atrociraptor.” Collect Jurassic and Mattel have a close relationship, so they can say stuff about their officially revealed toys that official sources may not say directly, like the Atrociraptor being called “Ghost” on that post.

As much as the render of the old Majungasaurus is used, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be Majungasaurus in this context. Especially when Collect Jurassic comes forward saying what the images are.

It's a match though.

Also on the Fandom page for Chaos Theory, it says Majungasaurus is appearing in the show.

I know it’s a match, but I updated with what Collect Jurassic said on their social media channel. It’s merely just a mock-up.

The Fandom wiki for Jurassic World is not recommended for information. As popular and as relevant as it is on a Google search result, that wiki is very poorly managed and structured to the core.

There was only one thing. The plot line for Chaos Theory is here.
If you want more smaller tidbits of non-direct information, here’s this:
Last month (which I didn’t notice until now), Collect Jurassic, whom they have a relationship with Mattel, have announced some new toy names, one of which is the “Battle Roar Becklespinax”.

As a reminder, it was rumored that this was one of the toys for the new animated series seen at the 2023 New York Toy Fair, claimed by Swrve who said someone reached out and told him that. So, it can be safely said that there is a Becklespinax toy, but I need to see if it will have the Chaos Theory packaging to get a more confident conclusion that it will appear in the show.

On another note, apparently, and I can’t find where it originated from, the sets for the Darius and Ben figures are rumored to have changed to the following:
  • Darius has the “large dino” instead of Ghost.
  • Ben has a “story set” instead of the “large dino”.

KATS, a Korean governmental organization website, has pictures pf several upcoming Jurassic world toys by Mattel. Among them is the "Ben Story Pack" that I brought up earlier on this thread. Now, it's officially called the "Ben Escape Pack".

This is definitive confirmation of several things:
1. Ben will be returning for Chaos Theory, with a brand new look of course.
2. The box art for Chaos Theory is now revealed as to what it looks like.
3. On the box art is the definitive confirmation of Allosaurus being in the series as it is right behind Darius (which I wasn't expecting at all) who, just as Jurassic Outpost claimed, is older looking on the art itself, which I guess shouldn't be surprising at this point. But the current Allosaurus toy from the Epic Evolution toyline, despite its differences, doesn't have the Chaos Theory packaging, and Collect Jurassic on YouTube said its official description is that of Battle at Big Rock. So, I wonder if there are more Allo figures with the same design coming for the Chaos Theory sub-toyline?
4. The package pretty much confirms the return of Dilophosaurus, and Atrociraptor (though I can't tell if the individual in the package is supposed to be either Tiger or Panthera, because it's definitely not Red or Ghost).
