Jurassic World Evolution 2: Free Update 7 Highlight

Hello, I am new here.
First, I wanna express my gratitude and congratulations for creating such an amazing game. Also for the new content.
However, in my personal game experience there are just too many bugs that should be fixed and prioritized above any new content.
I will list them here:
1. Malta airlift bug. In short, if you buy dinosaurs from the market and release them in the same time as you release dinosaurs from the hatchery via airlift it is common for airlift to bug.
2. Small carnivores that eat meat often tends to bug out and die of starvation, even in the sandbox. Also pyroraptors and flying reptiles tend to forgot about eating or even moving. Most common issue is with Moros Intrepidus and Sinausopteryx. Also common for Compsognatus and Celophysis.
3. When you go above 200 dinosaurs the game tends to partially freeze (on the places you are not looking for). In the challenge boxes and most of the sandboxes is not the issue, because you are not reaching this amount, but in the square box sandbox it is painful to watch. Of course, not moving dinosaurs die of starvation as well.
4. The behavior of car vehicles and jurassic tours. It is sometimes ridiculous. On Sorna Site B Challenge it was ruining my runs, because for some reason tour vehicles were constantly crashing. You had to remove big portion of track and redesign them in order to get rid of cumulative destroyed tour vehicles.
5. Even most tolerate and soft traited Quetzelcoatlus tend to attack and kill other flying reptiles, even the one who Quetzelcoatlus likes. This bug is most apparent in Oregon Challenge, happens in sandbox too.

For all those bugs I have saved games. If needed, I will post them here.

For not bug issues, the challenge mode needs a little balance change. The game was more fun actually when I did not recognise the winning pattern (for sub 3-3:30 h). Lagoons and aviary are too expensive (especially the wieving galleries) to be part of the challenge. Now I build dilophosaurs-ceratosaurus-carnotaurus-majungasaurus-baryonyx and it seems to be winning lottery.

Also I think inaccurate for sauropods to not like each other. Diplodocus' and brachiosaurus' bones are found in close proximity. The rating of sauropods should be much higher to justify the space that they need (and also cost). Carnivores are just too OP. Even with gen manipulating the cost/appeal rating for sauropods is just sad.
Finally the upgrades in challenge mode. You know that you get only the skill points for scientists and sometimes fossil capacity/dig yield/scanners. All others upgrades, if not necessary to play the game, just fall off (sometimes rides are good or steal fence, but rarely). Maybe those upgrades needs to be in cheaper packages. Also, upgrade for another vehicle for ACU and paleomedical center is just prohibitiv.

Sorry for this long bragging, I just want the community to experience the game better and smoother. Have a nice day and once again thank you for the wonderful game that you put so much effort in.

That's all ? really? after all this time and all these requests? we have the right to an update and such poor content??
No new marine feeders (live sharks, squid, amonites)?
No new customization of the lagoons?
No Marine Vegetation Brushes?
Only ONE new attraction for the lagoon?
No Tylosaurus able to feed in shark feeders like mosasaurus and kronosaurus?
No new behaviors for marine animals?

how can I say that I am a little disappointed.
I'm not going to congratulate you on the new underwater observation gallery because it was OBVIOUS that it had to be done, and from the BEGINNING of the game.

In short, Can't wait for Prehistoric Kingdom !!
Wow…the entitlement. First and foremost, this isn’t the full release relating to the update so I intend to withhold judgement until then.

You don’t have a ‘right’ to free content. You have a right to an update to fix glitches at most. Everything else is a bonus. Bearing in mind, we had a massive decoration dump just four weeks ago. Within four weeks, we have a new pack with four marine species, a platform to help show two of them off and a free update, all within a month.

And as much as I like Prehistoric Kingdom, it still feels so incomplete (I’m aware that it’s early access still, but it’s been a year) 27 species versus the 100 plus of JWE2 (over 70 at launch), with a wide array of marine and avian species and the ability to create specialised habitats for them (lack of lagoon foliage not withstanding).

In under two years, we’ve had dozens of new species, new attractions, a wide variety of maps, decorations. It’s not as if we’ve been starved for content.

Thankfully, your complaint hasn't changed anything.

The game is full of content to add, but this update is amazing beyond what you're talking about.

Complaining like a spoiled child isn't going to change anything.

I think the custom challenges are the biggest win here. This game has a linearity problem and adding onto this custom challenge mode may fix it. I think that's the biggest issue this game has, not least of all because it's an issue the first game had already mostly solved.
And guess what? That wouldn't even have been an issue if they had just included it at launch instead of stripping stuff out from the first game to add back in later. In other words, they should have finished the game before they released it!

I am so sick and tired of people like you guys who will just take whatever is dealt out to you even if it's pure manure. First off, people are not complaining about the DLC or most of the update, just that given the DLC theme, improvements to the lagoons beyond a viewing dome are still sorely needed as they are the most underdeveloped and lacking part of the game compared to even the land creatures and pterosaurs. Second, people are not being entitled. They are simply stating their concerns that lagoons are being neglected and overlooked when new species for them are being added. Demanding that post-launch support for a game improves isn't entitlement. It's paying customers asking for the developers and publisher to do better. Third, massive decoration dump for the 30th anniversary is a massive overstatement when you consider there are games that have hundreds of times the customization content this one does (Planet Zoo, their own first-party IP, is a premier example). Fourth. comparison to PK is unfair when they have a team of only about 10 developers and Frontier probably has at least 200+. Manpower is a big factor which is why PK is developing at a slower rate. Fifth, wide array of marine and aerial species in JWE2 is a massive overstatement. They are vastly outnumbered by the actual dinosaurs in case you forgot. Lastly, I am going to reiterate a point I've stated in response to die-hard defenders like you two before: talk about the pot calling the kettle black in reference to you complaining about other people supposedly complaining. People are rightly concerned that lagoons are being neglected. We need ways to make them more than just glorified fish bowls. Unless the update has way more improvements to the lagoons than Frontier is letting on, people have a right to voice their critiques. For real, I'm very close to phrasing my disagreements less politely, but I'm cutting it there.

I'm a bit disappointed with the new update, as it seems we won't be receiving any new decorations. I was really looking forward to having Jurassic World themed archways. I'm also disappointed that the San Diego part wasn't removed from the amphitheater. However, on a positive note, I do hope that this update has addressed all the bugs.

Hey Park Managers!

You might've seen some of our teasers over on our social channels by now, and we're sure you're hankering to see what's coming in Free Update 7 👀...so that means it's time for our Free Update Highlight!

We've got a range of incredible additions coming your way in Update 7...shall we dive in?

Custom Challenge Mode

Whether you've finished up on your Jurassic difficulty Challenges, or are wanting to see whether your friends' park management skills are up to scratch, you'll be able to enjoy a brand new challenge with Custom Challenge Mode. From selecting the map and up to 3 objectives, to customising over 40 settings so your challenge is totally unique, you'll be able to create - and share - your very own Challenges. Each Challenge you create will generate its own unique share code, so you can send it to your friends or share it on your social channels.

We'll even be sharing some of our own custom challenges from some familiar faces on our channels in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!

Lagoon Viewing Dome

With the incredible new species coming to your Lagoons in the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Prehistoric Marine Species Pack, we're offering your park guests a whole new way to observe them - with the Lagoon Viewing Dome! This brand new viewing area will function much like the Remote Viewing Galleries included in our previous update, and all Remote Viewing Entrances will also now be able to snap to the edges of your Lagoons, making your guests' experience even better! Lagoon Viewing Domes will offer a whole new underwater view for your guests, allowing them to see your marine species like never before.

Skin and Dinosaur Favouriting

As of Update 7, we'll be introducing two new features to make it easier than ever before to both manage your favourite skins and variations, and keep an eye on your favourite species once they're in your park.

First up, you'll now be able to mark skin and pattern colour variants as favourites in the species viewer, allowing you a way to save the variations that you prefer in a simple, easy-to-see way. When you're in the Hatchery genome editing menu, you'll then be able to choose to only randomise your favourited colour variants, allowing you even more freedom over how your species look in your park!

You'll also now be able to favourite specific dinosaurs in your parks. This will allow you to receive notifications when those dinosaurs in particular are performing interesting behaviours, as well as placing a beacon at their current location so you can easily head to them. Your favourited dinosaurs will also appear with a green highlight on your map overview, so you can always check in on them when needed.

Placeable Ampitheatre

We're not in San Diego any more...Yep, that's right! With Update 7, you'll now be able to place the Ampitheatre in your Sandbox parks, as part of the Jurassic Park building style. We know this is something that's been highly requested, so we're very much looking forward to seeing what you do with this iconic building in your parks!

Dinosaur Guest Hostility

Want to make your prehistoric species a little more...free range? Now, with Update 7, you'll be able to! When starting a new Sandbox park, you'll be able to toggle 'Dinosaur Danger to Guests' on or off, or set it to 'Carnivores Only'. With this setting off, any prehistoric species not in enclosures won't attack or injure your guests, and your safety rating and incident prevention ratings won't be impacted, either. Nothing's safer than a dinosaur park!

Additional Sandbox Mode Settings

Dinosaur hostility isn't the only change we've got coming for Sandbox players in Update 7! You'll now be able to enjoy all maps in Sandbox Mode without having to meet their unlock requirements, so that all levels are available without requiring progression in other game modes.
You'll also find that you can now add cosmetic damage to your Sandbox buildings, without affecting gameplay. Found under the 'Demolish' menu option, you can choose to make your buildings look a little more worse-for-wear.
Nice

Cool update, great to see a new setting for dinosaurs and guests as well as some new sandbox options, the cosmetic damage setting is something I have been wanting for a bit. Love to the amphitheatre is now able to be used on multiple maps. The new viewing gallery, skin favouriting system and custom challenge mode are also cool additions. I would have loved to see additional lagoon creature behaviours such as breaching, surface breathing, social interactions and of course lagoon interactions between species like Mosasaurus and oblivious dinosaurs and pterosaurs.

I beg that randomised dinosaur unlock/digsite order is in the challenge settings. I'll lose all hope if it isn't.

IT WAS IN THE FIRST GAME.

The absence of it is the only thing that stops this game feeling like a complete upgrade. The amount of replayability a randomised unlock order brings is immeasurable, and it stops you from using the same roster in all of your parks. It was always a fun challenge when one of the first genomes you would get was a large Theropod that you weren't fully equipped to contain. This feature is why JPOG holds up so well, and it changed everything for me when they added it in JWE 1. No 2 saves are the same. But this game ends up feeling samey because it doesn't have it. If it isn't in this update, I hope there's enough support left in this games life for them to add it by the end.

To Ilokelesia,

I get your sentiment. Another feature why Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis holds up so well is dinosaur cohabitation. Not now, we will speak about it later when the DLC and update is released.

I really like this new update. However, I still find the sea animals uninteresting, they take up a lot of space but have few animations and interactions, there is no tension or challenge in caring for them, they are the second most tedious aspect of the game, second only to visitors (if one day we have a JWE 3, I hope you care about creating more interesting visitors instead of having a characterless crowd, considering that quality is better than quantity). By the way, it would be interesting to update the sandbox where we can customize the animal needs bars individually, maybe this way, my parks would have more ponds instead of one or none, since that way, it could reduce the need for space for sea creatures, without having to to address the comfort needs of all animals in the park.

One thing that Mainstream visitors of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and Luxury guests of Jurassic World: Evolution 2 have in common is that they cater to dinosaur variety.

What do you say to having these guest types? Thrill Seekers and Dino Nerds.

Thrill Seekers want to see carnivores hunting, eating, and fighting.

What are the chances that Fun Lovers would frequent the arcade, VR, Mini Golf Course, and possibly the fossil zone besides seeing herbivores grazing and socializing?

Dino Nerds want to see authenticity. Authenticity points of a viewing attraction will be lost when putting Nasutoceratops with Styracosaurus along with seeing pachycephalosaurs living with stegosaurs. Herbivore exhibits are more likely to have higher authenticity rating than carnivore exhibits. Dinosaur cohabitation and authenticity are linked.

I am not going to buy this DLC to show my disappointment with the update. I am sad Megalodon is not in the DLC, but OK I would accept it. But just one improvement for lagoons and no kelp foliage? Kelp foliage is all what we need to make lagoons look alive and not just a boring concrete hole filled with water. YOU HAVE IT EVEN IN YOUR INTRO, FRONTIER!
