Seriously tempted to go on such a trip myself. I haven't done so before and if things hot up in the coming months I may not get the chance for a while. Currently I am heading towards the Retina Nebula, but I may just keep on going

So far I'm only 2,228ly from the LTT 13380 which is where I sstarted from. Still have a long ways to go lol. Fly safe and fly dangerous out there!

More importantly I'm trying to come up with a good story and some CGs for the group to raise awareness and recruit. I'll get in touch with the folks at FD to see how I could set it all up. I'll be sure to share this with yall when I get this all put together.

Reports are coming in that Cap Ships in Sol, Achenar, and Facace have been destroyed. I'll be investigating the Fed ship in Sol for first hand confirmation. The how and why has yet to be determined. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=230243

UPDATE: I checked the Cap Ship in Sol and everything appeared normal. I'll look around a little more and see if I find anything else tomorrow. I'll probably hit up Facace too.

I checked on the Cap Ship in Sol and there's no wreckage. Everything looks like business as usual. I'll check out Facace just to be sure but it seems there aren't actually as many Cap Ships being destroyed as has been claimed.
Checked Facece earlier and the capital ship nearest the main star is indeed destroyed. The wreckage is very close to the star and there were six wreckage cannisters at the site, but I didn't pick them up. One static patrol plus two moving ones in the area, and a Majestic-class Interdictor shows up as well. Can post pics later. Checked the next two capital ships in the system and they were intact.
Just arrived in Sol but guess there's nothing here, will double check

What are the stats on a Cap ship. I would imagine they have to be some bad a ships with great shields, armour and weapons. The only thing I could think of that would be able to go toe to toe with one is maybe another Cap ship. If it was an invading army we would have heard about it or even seen them on the move. Then theres sabotage. Could be that Emperor's Dawn shadow cell. There could have been someone on the inside that could have made it go kaboom. Then there's the unknown... Aliens. There is no telling what it could have been but what ever it or who it was had some serious fire power.
Thanks again for spotting this one. Not sure there are any known stats yet. As you can't take down the shields or armour (perhaps until now) it was never an issue - higher than anything we can fly for sure! You could take down the heat relays and then the ship would jump out, which is way too gamey a mechanic for my liking. To date apart from an FD demo video, I don't think two opposing cap ships have ever been seen in the same location.
Re those responsible, good thinking I agree. Gotta be either 1. Another cap ship that would attack both the Feds and the Imps, but able to do so unnoticed in the heavily guarded hearts of both territories? if this is the case then that would be extremely worrying, as it means that the best known human defence forces are currently useless against whatever is out there. Unless the Alliance have some new tech / bomber squadrons that they're not talking about

Hi all, little update of what I've been up to. I got back from B loop and surrounding nebs with nothing to report, spent a little time in Maia looking for any odd ships and did a little refit on my Python!.. Nothing to report apart from I'm battle ready now if needed. I've just finished my investigation into to crashed Condas, after visiting the one near the barnacle site it got me thinking that I'm sure there was a pilot seat seen at the first one found! Unfortunately after visiting both sites yesterday they are the same! Even have Cane Massy crates lying around. I'm now in merope as Mr Brookes comments about UA's pointing where they should leads me to think there something else to find.
