Lego Asp Scout (UCS minifig 1:96ish scale) update

What's the plan for the "glass" surrounding the cockpit? Really curious...i could learn something there

I was not going to bother, but you have several options. For example this part would fit snugly over the front (since I used standard curved parts)

In fact, the most difficult part would be the need for a transparent triangular section in the lower cockpit (which does not exist).

Nice! Its annoying though that grey colour bricks seem to be the most expensive :D
Well, those are all bought for classic castle MOC's. You know, mix 80's early 90's Lego Idea Books with some pictures of medieval Italian hamlets, throw in a few Forestmen with red pants, palm tree trunks with Plant Leaves 6 x 5 for leaves, add some Black Falcon shields. That sort of stuff.

Yo DO know that you don't have to rely on grey to build ship designs, right? I am currently building a ship myself that will be approximately 80 cm long once it is finished. It will be mostly two colors. Red (the upper half of the hull) and white (the lower half of the hull as well as most of the interior ship decks). Damn thing is going to eat up a TON of sloped bricks and wedges. Damn you Bricklink for having all the bit I need. I can't believe the amount of money I've spent over the last few weeks, on that site. Here's a small glimpse of an early pic of the partially finished design:

The lower blister that you see will be the cargo hold/external access with doors sliding open on both sides. the little grey bit slung under the ship towards the front is a gimballed laser. I've decided to mount twin turrets, one on either side, on the upper hull where the ship is widest. The front section you see missing will be all in white, layered and will be removable to catch a glimse of the deck below. The only planned grey part will be the rear of the ship which, hopefully, will be engineered to be able to slide backwards from the ship to reveal the engineering section of the ship with the drives (Lego battery packs which will power all of the lights I will be installing in the ship).

I have to admit though, I am far more impressed with Rubbernuke's project, than my own. It takes a lot of skill and talent to be able to take a known ship design and then build it accurately and flesh out the unknown interior details to boot! My hat's off to you, Rubbernuke. Your ship is bloody amazing!

Thanks! The most difficult part is that the model has 3 floors, so its like stacking 3 large models on top of each other and trying to make each side look good.
