Less than 5k cmdrs logging in now.

You have to come on the High Intensity surface CZ during next CG. There's always one where all CMDRs come for PvP (last time was Lagrange Dredging Station, we were about 15).

Odyssey totally hides its game (it's actually Lemnis Gate). It's the perfect mix of CoD / Battlefield gunplay, coupled with the verticality and multitasking of Unreal / Overwatch (because of jetpack, control points, etc.)

Edit : let's go play together in PvP next time !
Lemnis gate is made by a different company and is not made with the cobra engine.

The table does. The chart uses max peaks after a few months iirc, I think @StuartGT was more familiar with that aspect (a bit more prone to confusion) of the chart. In case of doubt, better refer to the table.
Yes, the averages are the best. Used to be higher back then but we have more platforms now, too.

Here is one of a dead game:

some 300 players average. And we were split into regional servers. Mainly two. So you can probably imagine running into the known faces. There was one guy I really feared. I knew one of the ships could dish out really high damage and he was master of it. Luckily random lobbies mean that it was about as probable to have him on my team.
Despite the low number matchmaking was stable for quite a long while. They canned it in the end because it couldn't sustain the studio and, well, rest is history.

I guess you often see a small hardcore audience around some titles that keep playing it no matter what the rest of the world says. I say it was a good game. And the community was quite good, too. We probably knew we shouldn't annoy each other so much.

I look closer at Lemnis Gate videos and you're probably right, the engine seems different from Cobra.
But since the studio has been bought / published by Frontier, I wonder if their team didn't collaborate on OD. There are so much similarities in the gunplay, animations and environment.

Ah, got it, Adam Savage "I reject your reality and substitute my own". Kinda fitting for you, don't you think? :D
Ah yes, that's very fitting indeed, projection does seem to be your go-to argumentative device. Have a nice day.

They may have collaborated. Difficult to tell. As far as I know FDev only published the game and that's their only involvement. It's a Canadian games company that made it called Ratloop Games.

...Edit : also too many hero shooters lately.
Is that where you have some key abilities the character is built around? I'm kinda anticipating forgot the name again - Darktide? - WH40 4 player coop shooter. Vermintide was very good, but I rather have scifi - even without my beloved Skaven.

I still can hear the wrench noises and sentry gun audio when I think of engie. Engineer is credit to team!
Blizzard ripped off most of TF2 characters 😬 :
