Manual powerplant repair as an Odyssey functionality

Good morning!

I suggest implementing a method of manual repair of the powerplant while landed and disembarked. The inability to repair the powerplant is a serious lack of functionality which seriously impedes long-range exploration and the overall experience. One should be able to shut it down and repair it with a selection of materials.

The multi-limpet-controller and the powerplant repair were two things I always imagined and wished for, and given that one of them is becoming reality soon, I feel like the other is in reach, too. That's why I will not listen to my peers this time, and post this suggestion, hoping to improve the game I love.

This is the main argument alot of people have for wanting ship interiors. Making manual repairs.

You're saying a multi limpet controller is planning to be implemented? I've not heard this before

Yeah, part of the upcoming update, alongside twin-seat SRVs and carrier bridge :)

Ngl that's pretty awesome. I'm very surprised that noone is talking about this. I'll have to revisit some of my older builds and see how I can use this.

EDIT: I'm wondering how this will work exactly. I have a class 5 repair limpet on my AX ship because it repairs alot more than the others but it also allows you to fire 3 of them. I dont need that because its usually just me by my lonesome out there. So could i now equip a decontamination limpet and a collector while still keeping the efficiency of the class 5 repair? I hope they dont nerf the efficiency with the higher classes.

I would like that. You want to repair ship automatically - you have AMFUs and repair limpets. You want to use internal space for something else - you must do repairs yourself when it's neccessary as part of Odyssey on foot experience.
 
Bad for people suffering from OCD.. I dont see a need that we 'have' to repair our PP except for a nice activity. The galaxy is full of places where you can repair. People have been out in the black for years without a PP ever failing.
