Mapping to New Heights ⛰️

Kind of? You can certainly experiment and try! You'd need to change it to fit the guidelines above rather than an upload of your face though :)
Hey Tim, maybe when you guys to your next livestream that showcases an update (or dlc?) you can showcase this feature as well. It might help people who aren’t super tech savvy and are visual learners. Just a suggestion! I really like this feature, great job all around!

Jesus finally some news! ❤️ (You could almost cut the air from tension here in the forum)

The feature is really cool! I still know the system from the sims3 caw tool. This makes it much easier to make blueprints from an entire map.
Nice! Didn't see THAT come, but i like it :D (and the DLC soon too! *rubbs the hands together)

Isn't that more of a end-of-support kind of thing?
Ehm, no. It was also introduced in the one year anniversary update of PC, and I'm still amazed this isn't in PZ from release.

I'm glad people get what they want if this is what they wanted, but it's not my cup of tea maybe?
I'm merely stating my opinion.

Really cool feature but unfortunately another one (along with the billboards) that I can't really use because I play Planet Zoo on cloud gaming.
But I'm really excited for the rest of the update and the probably upcoming DLC.

Now, I can say that's something I never expected. :) So happy for my fellow players who struggle with a flat map to get their juice flowing.

Me.... honestly can't work with anything BUT a flat map :ROFLMAO: I doubt I'll ever use that feature but am excited of what others will do with it - and what else the new update might bring ;)

I think this is a really good shout. I agree it will be a mountain pack - would that still tie in with a North American pack? Centred around the Rocky mountains?
Sort of. Pumas, bighorn sheep, even the (semi-hated/loved) American black bear. Plus, there's also many mountains in central Mexico, with snakes, bears, deer.

I think it would work

I'll have a look at if we can give some extra examples and shots to help with using it closer to when it becomes available :) For now we wanted to share that it's coming as it's an awesome tool!

Just wanna clarify- the only way to generate a height map is by editing the .tif file directly? So you can’t do your terraforming in the game itself and have it export to new height map?

Doubt it’ll impact me much either way since this is definitely a feature like billboards where I’ll ultimately end up just using others’ designs, but it does seem like it migjt be easier for some to generate one of these using the in game terrain editor due to the immediate visual feedback. If this is the case I don’t doubt there’s a good technical reason for the limitation, though.

Sounds pretty amazing and it surely is unexpected. I am personally more keen on the flat maps(would personally prefer being able to choose custom terrain textures and map backrounds), but some kind of terraformed maps are high on the community wishlist so I am happy for others. Thank you for always listening to our feedback. 🙂

Or even better: a generalized alpine/mountain pack, with animals all over the world that live in mountains
Yes that's a good idea actually! It must be something that is tied in with mountains surely! Just like the updated deep diving for the Aquatic pack.

I have to say as much as I wanted to know what this pack was - the build up has been awesome in not knowing. It'll be a lovely surprise.

So cool ! Could be cool to have an option to apply automatically cliff/rock texture when the slope is too steep (like we have already in game with the terraformation tool) !
