Mapping to New Heights ⛰️

Can't wait for the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest, African Rift maps to start popping up. Stuff that would've taken weeks to make the old way, but with this probably only a few hours at most.
I’m a little confused here. I already know that there’s no way I’m gonna have the patience to custom make my own lol, but I’m interested in the pre-made ones. I just would like some clarification on what these will be like. Will they have mountains, trees, rivers, lakes, etc. or just different terrain levels?

Yeah, I've been working on a zoo in a canyon for a few months now with a lot of adjustments to get things to look right for it. The idea will still take a lot of time, but the maps would definitely speed things up there.
You mean you knew about the update or it's just something you did for fun and it happened to coincide with the update?

As someone who has a pre-teraformed map that I have been too burnt out In the creative process of making to actually use..I’m so intrigued by the potential of this. Work smarter, not harder!
Creating these kinds of maps doesn’t seem like my cup of tea, but if they are easy to implement and share, then I can only imagine how much creative paralysis this will negate. I may still give it a whirl when I’m feeling spicy. I hope we can do the reverse and pull off our height maps to share maybe? With a few in game alterations we could very easily make them our own with more of an inspired starting point.
Not every update is for everyone.. but for those this is for, this looks like it’s a strong offering.

I knew it! I've spent the last weeks checking my phone every minute and the day I go out on a trip and I'm happily doing some tourism then the news drop

Hey, YouTubers, don't tell us what's in the pack or update, but how is 1.7 and the new DLC? Is it great (I mean, they all are, but what about this one)? Is it worth it?

I don't think they have early access already.
It's great. They removed the Arctic Wolf, so it's a perfect pack!

Now I'm wondering if we're going to be seeing any of this come to fruition soon...
Gotta say I'm pretty meh about this...not that I don't want better terrain tools, I really do, but I want just that: better and more efficient terrain tools in the game. What I'm not interested in however is going back and forth a ton of times between my art programm and PZ, reopeneing zoo after zoo to check and see if I finally managed to get the shades in my painting right to achieve the terrain I wanted to create. Yeah, I would've much more prefered a solution without the middleman so to speak.
These may still come in this update (and are actually very likely). This is just a featurette, not the whole update. That's likely on monday.
