Memorial for my little commander

May she find eternal peace. I wish for her to be a bright spot amongst the stars, so that fellow wanderers can look at her and say, "God put one of his little Angels there."

(I do apologize if that offends anybody's sensibilities.)

A few days ago my daughter's 11 year old body succumbed under the strain of the fight against cancer. She was brave and wonderful and could have fought forever if it was up to her spirit.

I wanted to post this to help myself heal, to thank fdev for the game that has granted me so much relief from the stress of everything, and to thank bosslady and loose screws discord and squadron for being my online brothers and sisters.

To the devs: your work matters. It is just a game, but your amazing game has provided comfort and entertainment to people struggling with countless issues. I thank you so much for your efforts.

To the awesome community, particularly Kai Zen and bossladyB. Thank you such much for the play time and streams and late night talks. Community is what drives this game and it is encouraging to see so many players who deeply care about the universe they are involved in.
I believe that the expectations of core players will drive the push to a better and better game.

It is also amazing how this communtiy has banded together to donate to so amazing causes. cmdr platter and fdev's charity efforts come to mind. So much money raised to fight terrible diseases that effect commanders around the world!

Lastly I have a request from a grieving father. My Evelyn was a thinker and a reader. She loved the fact that you could fly through our on galaxy and see the stars that we see from our backyard.

I would love to get a named object in the game that i could go visit as a memorial. Preferably it would be something really bright, just like her. Unstoppable and bright in the darkness. It would so special for me.

Thanks for listening, mike.
Thoughts to you and your family. Fly Safe little one. o7

My condolences to the OP and his family. I remember walking to the hospital every day several years ago and each day my daughter grew worse to the point that we had accepted the inevitable. By the grace of God, the last treatment worked. Every day since has been a struggle of varying degrees, as she lives with a lifelong condition that will never go. Life is fragile and uncertain and the time we share with others is precious. May your memories of Evelyn be a warm glow amidst the sadness of the present.

Like you my friend I to have lost a beloved family member in this case my stepson who I raised from the age of 10. Although Jordan passed on at the age of 23 in 2016 he left a huge hole in both the wife's and my hearts.

Whilst the pain never goes away I believe you do get stronger and the love you shared with your child will live on in your heart and soul forever.

I am in tears writing this but may you cherish the memories you made and shared always. We send you our condolences and love.
yours faithfully Vger Starseed and Wendy.

My sincerest condolences on your loss. My son Fletcher was at 40 weeks. Some days, even 10 years on, it is hard to fully function. The thought that he was and never will have the opportunity to fly with his Dad through this wonderful galaxy can be hard to take.
During these tough days, I reach for my VR headset and set off into the black just to stare at the stars and think about him being one of those stars and ignoring the pain around me.
I echo the sentiment and thanks to the developers who have provided an escape for me.
