Memorial for my little commander

May there be an eternal memorial for your Evelyn my brother..one that lasts as long as your memories will too. Not just in a game but in the lives of your friends. We're with you fella. I'm very sorry for your pain and loss. One day may you be reunited.

A few days ago my daughter's 11 year old body succumbed under the strain of the fight against cancer. She was brave and wonderful and could have fought forever if it was up to her spirit.

I wanted to post this to help myself heal, to thank fdev for the game that has granted me so much relief from the stress of everything, and to thank bosslady and loose screws discord and squadron for being my online brothers and sisters.

To the devs: your work matters. It is just a game, but your amazing game has provided comfort and entertainment to people struggling with countless issues. I thank you so much for your efforts.

To the awesome community, particularly Kai Zen and bossladyB. Thank you such much for the play time and streams and late night talks. Community is what drives this game and it is encouraging to see so many players who deeply care about the universe they are involved in.
I believe that the expectations of core players will drive the push to a better and better game.

It is also amazing how this communtiy has banded together to donate to so amazing causes. cmdr platter and fdev's charity efforts come to mind. So much money raised to fight terrible diseases that effect commanders around the world!

Lastly I have a request from a grieving father. My Evelyn was a thinker and a reader. She loved the fact that you could fly through our on galaxy and see the stars that we see from our backyard.

I would love to get a named object in the game that i could go visit as a memorial. Preferably it would be something really bright, just like her. Unstoppable and bright in the darkness. It would so special for me.

Thanks for listening, mike.
I buried one of my own as well. It's a pain I never want to let go of. God bless you Mike.

I know how you feel, I lost my brother to Cancer just last year, and in memory of Evelyn’s brave battle against it, I made a little something for you. A 3 Volley/7 Volley Salute out in the black. The casings spent doing this will remain on planet Evelyn in the system of Sheau Byoe CQ-L c9-171 Stay Strong Commander. We are with you

Cmndr Jello, my thoughts and best wishes go out to you and yours. i sincerely hope that you can see a way through your pain.
Threads like this touch me in way few could comprehend.
My little family is12 years into the ordeal with a 15yr old daughter with a cns tumour that cannot be removed.
Every day, each smile, every peal of laughter are cherished for the inevitable blackness that we march toward.
I applaud your candour and honest attempt to share what must be a hellish situation in the hope that it keeps you sane and grounded.
All the best from a kindred soul lost among the black.

I had read this thread's title several times over the past few days and was afraid to open it. It's heartbreaking to see my fears confirmed.

Several years ago my wife and I lost our newborn son.

We now have a very brave and intelligent daredevil of a six year old daughter, and I couldn't be more grateful for her, even if she did manage to break her forearm a couple weeks ago. It's on the mend and all should be fine, in spite of my nagging her to try and be careful and not run around and try to carry stuff on her cast.

Life goes on, but also, the life that lived and shined so bright will stay with you forever in your heart and memories, and in the good it brought to this world.

Sorry for you and your family's loss, Commander. Eleven years is far too short a time, but long enough to learn, discover, love, and find happiness.
