Yes, of course it would need a change then :)

I'd be happy if the things that are supposed to work actually work.
Like
- increasing influence for factions without stations by missions
- going to civil war when being dominant faction by influence
- influence being applied to right system

Who cares whether there are Indians in India and North America ;)

True need to find more of the bugs imho before start petitioning for changes in the system. From everyones reports the civil war conflict zones sound pretty buggy that's something that's going to bite us in Hr if we ever get one lol

Conflict zone seemed to work o.k. as of late. We won a civil war by doing combat bonds and bounty hunting a week ago.

That's great! I was thinking if the Goons couldn't move the influence bar with combat bonds theres definitely something messed up.

Observations from the following thread seem to indicate that some part of civil wars are broken too.

We've been fighting the same number of days now (5 days) and neither faction has shifted be even an iota.
It's possible the only contribution to influence changes during our civil war were the bounties. Combat bonds and missions may have no effect

It might be that what we did was achieved solely by bounties...
Possible. We won a civil war by concentrating on BH and Combat Bonds. Which part was how important? Noone knows.

Doing missions in Mikunn has come to a stand still.... because none to few are being offered.

I have made a bug ticket, but I would like to politely offer the observation that the number of these (bugs) is getting so high, its making progressing in Mikunn difficult.

Edit: Apparently this is only the case for some people.

According to the DDA, each mission offered costs the faction wealth. Maybe stepping up the trade in Mikunn may help get more wealth, and thus more missions.

I feel like completing missions should give them wealth too. If not, why are they offering them?

Except as the game works right now states are per faction not per system, so a faction spanning 20 systems will have one state.

What do you expect to happen in Mikunn if you get civil war going on in HR? Shouldn't they go to civil war in Mikunn as well? Or does it require some sort of action in Mikunn as well as in HR to start civil war in HR? Or could you start civil war in HR by starting a civil war in Mikunn? Or does the game consider Mikunn's Dukes to be a different faction than Dukes in HR?

States seem to apply to single systems even if the faction is in multiple systems. We boomed but it only applied to mikunn. In the empire I know a faction that expanded to another system and entered a civil war. The civil war only applied to the system they expanded into since it was against a specific faction.

Pretty sure that how it's suppose to work, but if Influence is going to the wrong system, maybe so is wealth. Or it could be the lack of need, since a lot of missions are being fulfilled. Or it is a bug.

From what I've gathered, each faction can only be in one state, no matter how many systems it's in. BUT, certain states can only manifest in one system. So far, that's Civil War and Boom. I'd guess Lock Down too.

Yup if we had a station in HR would the boom have effected that station also? Is it FD intention that it does affect both if conditions are met? Obviously civil war is a special case since it would be specific to two factions.

One question about the persistant universe is whether a factions status can be changed without dev intervention. The Fed factions are constantly showing missions to cause factions in HR to join the federation. I wonder if its possible for a faction that is independent to join one of the big three without dev intervention.

Definitely be nice to give other play styles a home base of operations.

traders, miners, etc.
combat pilots be escorts and protection for them.

hope that we will grow into something like this. sooner or later.

I'm waiting to see what they do with wings. We desperately need more co-op stuff, but since its supposedly coming there is little point in me asking until I've tried it.

just a future wish ^^

the co op stuff is only useful when yorue efforts arent stopped dead due to bugs, the way i can see it the dukes still havent taken a station in HR despite being the dominant faction. There has to be a bug in all of this, multiple failed civil wars. My pand group has only hda one failed expansion and one boom which lasted 2 days and upgraded the market a bit. We are now 90% influence in pand and waiting to see what happens next. Similiar situation to mikunn id guess but our expansion will be into a pirate controlled system, which should remove system authority as an issue and make it clearer to expand i would guess, smaller numbers but so far we are yet to hit any big hurdles yet.

yeah, expanding into a terraforming pirate faction at a remote area makes probably more sense. even knowing that such game mechanics are not even in the game yet.

anyway if we succeed or not we are forming a community which has a bond beyond our current main cause.

stop being negative ollo.

It might not be, we'll take a look.

Michael

Mr. Brookes, any word on if Influence is going to the right system?

We're guessing not, since we've been running missions for the Dukes while attacking Dynamic Commodities. We've seen Dynamic Commodities Influence drop, but seen Dukes Influence increase in the same proportion as the other 3 minor factions. I would expect if Mission Influence were going to the Dukes in HR 7327, they should gain Influence at a faster rate than the other factions.
